Seraphina gripped her phone until her knuckles turned white.
Charles was a corrupt traitor, but the one she truly despised was Dominic.
Dominic knew perfectly well that Charles's target was her father, yet he funded the destruction without a second thought.
When it came to Cynthia, he had no moral floor.
He didn't care if it destroyed Seraphina or her family!
By the time she arrived at the Institute, the main entrance was still blockaded by reporters and furious protesters screaming for Arthur's resignation.
Taking a deep breath, Seraphina slipped through a neglected side entrance.
The interior of the building was eerily quiet.
She hurried down the hall to the far end of the second floor and found an office door padlocked with a heavy iron chain.
She pressed her face against the glass pane.
Arthur was huddled in the corner, his face buried in his knees.
Her heart shattered.
"Dad!" she called through the glass.
Arthur jerked his head up. Seeing his daughter, his eyes instantly flooded with tears.
He stumbled toward the door. "Seraphina... what are you doing here? Run. Don't let them see you."
"I'm not going anywhere," she said, pressing her hands against the window. "Don't be afraid, Dad. I'm taking you home."
"You can't fix this..." His voice broke, trembling with despair.
Before she could answer, heavy footsteps echoed down the corridor.
A heavyset manager in a facility uniform waddled over, glaring at her impatiently. "No unauthorized personnel allowed. Get out of here."
"I am not unauthorized. I am Arthur Sinclair's daughter," Seraphina said, straightening her posture. "Unlock this door."
The manager looked her up and down and sneered.
"So what? This is an internal disciplinary matter. Get lost."
She held her ground.
Today was supposed to be an open campus day. Family members were legally allowed inside.
She knew perfectly well that Charles's office was currently packed with people kissing his ring.
The manager let out a horrifying shriek.
Footsteps hurried around the corner. A group of people strode into view.
Charles led the pack, flanked by several sycophantic assistants carrying his coffee and tablets.
Seeing the brutal scene, the group stopped in shock, immediately shouting at Seraphina to release him.
She didn't even glance at them, applying even more pressure to the finger.
The crowd began berating her, calling her an animal.
The manager screamed in pure agony, begging his coworkers to shut up.
Every time they yelled, she twisted it harder.
The pain was blinding. He was entirely convinced the bone had splintered.
Seeing her terrifying indifference, the entourage panicked, unsure of how to intervene.
At that exact moment, Dominic and Cynthia strolled down the hall at a leisurely pace.
Walking between them, Lily was gripping her father's jacket with one hand and holding a lollipop in the other.
