The courtroom erupted into an uproar.
All eyes fell on Cynthia.
Her face drained of color, rendering her utterly speechless.
How was this possible?
Hadn't all the evidence been destroyed?
How did Seraphina get her hands on this?
No... she must have had it all along.
Yet she kept her mouth shut the entire time.
She waited specifically for today, in open court, in front of everyone, to lay it all out piece by piece.
Cynthia bit her lip so hard she nearly drew blood.
Seraphina was way too calculating!
No, she had to play the victim and complain to Dominic!
She whipped her head around, desperately seeking Dominic's gaze.
She wanted to tell him that Seraphina did this on purpose, that she had known everything but chose to humiliate him today to destroy them both!
But when she turned around, Dominic was already standing up.
His face was completely devoid of emotion, his jaw clenched so tight it looked like it might snap.
He didn't even spare her a single glance.
Cynthia's heart plummeted into her stomach.
Before she could even open her mouth, Dominic turned on his heel and walked toward the courtroom exit in dead silence.
He stumbled slightly, looking as though all the strength had been siphoned from his bones.
Cynthia's eyes widened in horror. She tried to call out to him, but just then, the gavel struck again.
The judge's voice echoed through the room: "Given that the plaintiff's evidence is invalid and there is a clear presence of fabricated facts, this court dismisses all of the plaintiff's claims. The plaintiff shall bear all court fees."
"Furthermore, as the plaintiff is suspected of perjury and malicious prosecution, the defense has already requested that the evidence be transferred to the relevant authorities for criminal review."
Cynthia slumped back into her chair, her entire body running cold.
Watching Dominic's retreating figure, she scrambled up and chased after him.
"Dominic! Listen to me, let me explain..."
Dominic didn't break his stride, acting as if she didn't exist.
Panic seized Cynthia. She reached out to grab him, but the moment her fingers grazed his sleeve, he violently shoved her away.
She froze in place, staring at him in sheer disbelief.
