Chelsea let out a cold scoff. "Tsk, she runs pretty fast. Wasn't she acting all tough a second ago?"
She turned her head to look at Seraphina, her expression instantly transforming into a beaming smile. "Babe, let's go! We're throwing a victory party! Drinks are on me today, and no one is allowed to fight me for the bill."
Before she even finished, Gideon chimed in. "I just opened a new private dining club. The atmosphere is very quiet."
Tristan followed up smoothly. "The executive chef at my restaurant used to work at a three-star Michelin establishment."
Ethan added, "The wine collection at my place is worth more than any restaurant's menu."
After they all spoke, the men exchanged a collective look.
Something subtle and tense snapped in the air.
Gideon maintained a neutral expression, seamlessly withdrawing his gaze.
A smile played on Tristan's lips, though his eyes remained cool and competitive.
Ethan stood with his hands in his pockets, his gaze darting between the other two men, clearly unwilling to back down either.
Watching the scene unfold, Seraphina gave a helpless, amused smile.
"Let's skip the party for today. I just want to go home and rest. Chelsea can drive me."
At her words, the collective intense stares vanished.
Gideon nodded, choosing not to press the issue.
The smile on Tristan's lips faded slightly, but he still offered a polite nod.
Ethan patted her on the shoulder. "Get some good rest if you're tired. We can always celebrate another time."
Julian and Zachary didn't insist either, offering a few words of care before everyone went their separate ways.
Seraphina walked down the steps with Chelsea and headed toward the parking lot.
Meanwhile, beneath the old locust tree outside the courthouse doors.
A figure stood hidden in the shadows.
Dominic leaned against the trunk, his eyes locked onto Seraphina's retreating silhouette.
She was surrounded by so many incredible people.
Every single one of them looked ready to move mountains to keep her safe.
Had he truly thrown away the most important person in his life?
Seraphina got into Chelsea's car.
