Seraphina narrowed her eyes and a slight smirk touched her lips, but she didn't say a word.

Dominic was momentarily stunned before looking down at his daughter with a low scowl. "Lily, what are you doing? You can't be this impolite. That is a gift Daddy gave to Aunt Cynthia, which means it belongs to her."

"Great-Grandma gave that to me!"

Lily shook her head. "Great-Grandma said this belongs to me, and when I grow up, I'm supposed to give it to Mommy!"

"It's not for the bad lady! Make the bad lady give it back!"

She stomped her feet in frustration. "Daddy, you're a liar! You took my stuff and gave it to the bad lady!"

Cynthia's face cycled between red and white, and she instinctively tried to hide her hand behind her back.

She forced a smile, trying to come up with something to smooth things over, but a lump lodged in her throat.
