Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 316

Right as Seraphina's consciousness finally faded, she thought she saw a red silhouette standing under the trees in the distance. She had wanted to call out for help, but the figure turned away, fading further and further into the night...

When Seraphina finally woke up, she was in a hospital room.

She twitched her fingers. Before her senses had fully returned, she saw Gideon Cole sitting by her bedside.

He had deep, visible dark circles under his eyes, looking as though he had stayed awake for several nights in a row.

Seraphina struggled to sit up, but the moment she moved, Gideon jolted awake.

He immediately sat up straight and reached out to gently press her shoulder. "Don't move."

"The doctor said you need to rest."

Seraphina eased back down onto the pillows. "...Thank you, Mr. Cole."

Gideon frowned slightly.

"You don't need to call me Mr. Cole anymore. Just use my name."

Seraphina's eyes widened in surprise.

Gideon added, "We're friends. There's no need for formalities."

Friends.

Seraphina's expression softened considerably.

A faint smile touched her lips. "Then I'll call you Gideon?"

The lines around his eyes softened, and the corners of his mouth lifted almost imperceptibly. "Yeah."

Gideon withdrew his hand, his expression turning serious once again. "I looked into the crash. The person who hit you was Owen Hamilton. He disguised himself, snuck back into Northport, and used a fake ID posing as an out-of-state freight driver."

Seraphina's expression mirrored his gravity.

She had no history with this Owen Hamilton. If he wanted revenge, he should have gone after Dominic. Why target her?

She racked her brain for a long time but couldn't make sense of it.

Perhaps people who wanted to do evil always found a hundred different excuses.

She didn't want to waste any more energy thinking about it.

"Did they catch him?"
