Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 325

A few days later, the time for Seraphina's hospital discharge finally arrived.

To be precise, she was checking out against medical advice.

The doctor originally opposed it, insisting her leg had yet to fully heal.

But Seraphina's tone was unwavering. "Doctor, I need to get my divorce decree tomorrow. I've waited entirely too long for this day, and I don't want to delay it for another second."

The doctor sighed. "Alright, but you must be careful. Don't walk too fast, don't stand for too long, and make sure you use your crutches."

"I will."

Seraphina nodded, a bright smile gracing her lips.

The moment her caregiver wheeled her out the hospital's front doors, a warm breeze washed over her face, blowing away much of the stifling pressure she had been feeling.

She took a deep breath, finding the air to be far sweeter than it had been days ago.

Upon returning to her small apartment, she hobbled around the room on her crutches to ensure she could manage her daily tasks, before washing up and settling into bed early.

Still slightly anxious before falling asleep, she grabbed her phone and texted Dominic.

"Don't forget to show up at City Hall tomorrow morning."

Sending the message, she didn't bother waiting for a reply. She simply locked her screen and tossed the phone onto the nightstand.

She closed her eyes, a faint smile still lingering on her lips.

After tomorrow, she would finally be completely free.

The next morning, Seraphina woke up even before her alarm went off.

Relying on her crutches, she slowly washed up, changed into a crisp white button-down shirt, and carefully inspected herself in the mirror.

Snatching up the folder containing her documents, she verified everything was in order, and headed out the door with her crutches.

By the time she arrived at City Hall, Dominic was nowhere to be seen.

Seraphina took a seat on a bench in the lobby, watching the happy couples lined up at the counter to register their marriages.

Looking at the blissful smiles radiating from their faces, she didn't feel an ounce of envy.

All she felt was a profound sense of relief.

A few minutes later, Dominic finally arrived.

Dressed in a dark overcoat, he strode into the lobby. His gaze swept across the room before landing on her, making him pause in his tracks.

Seraphina hoisted herself up on her crutches and gave him a brief nod. "You're here? Let's go in."

With that, she turned around and limped toward the clerk's window.
