The other end fell silent for a few seconds.
"Boss, Operation Direwolf is a top-tier operation. By protocol, it's never deployed for civilian matters..."
"I know."
Gideon cut him off without a shred of hesitation. "Bill all expenses to my personal account. Double the hazard pay for all operatives across the board. Just get it done. You must find that child as soon as possible."
The voice on the other end didn't hesitate anymore. "Understood."
Gideon was about to hang up when he remembered something else. "Also, track the movements of the original Riley Robbins, Owen Hamilton, and Cynthia Ross."
The operative firmly agreed. Gideon ended the call, stood in place for a moment, and then turned to push the door open and head back inside.
Seraphina's bandages had been changed, but her face was still deathly pale.
Seeing Gideon walk in, she forced her eyes open wider. "Gideon, we still need to keep digging into this Riley Robbins to see if we can find any clues. And Owen Hamilton, Cynthia Ross—they're all suspects. I need you to look into them too."
Gideon took a deep breath. "Don't worry, I've already given the orders."
He looked at her, a flash of admiration passing through his eyes. Even at a time like this, she still managed to maintain her logic.
He patted Seraphina's hand, told her to get plenty of rest, and then gave the nurse a strict set of instructions, demanding she keep a close eye on Seraphina and call him instantly if anything happened.
After securing everything, he left the apartment.
He had to get to work. He needed to find a lead on the child immediately, otherwise, he seriously worried Seraphina wouldn't be able to hold on.
After Gideon left, Seraphina rested for a bit, her gaze turning sharper and clearer.
She couldn't afford to drown in her agony.
She had to rescue Lily as quickly as possible.
Everyone was working hard, and she needed to do her part.
The top priority right now was figuring out where Lily was.
But when Lily was taken, she didn't have any electronics on her, making her impossible to track.
It seemed her only option was to zero in on the person who actually took her.
