During her lunch break, she headed to the hospital as usual.
She had hired two full-time caretakers specifically to watch over Lily, and they kept everything in perfect order.
Lily remained exactly the same—lying quietly in bed, her small face pale, her breathing steady. She never opened her eyes, never made a sound.
Seraphina sat beside the bed, holding her daughter's small hand, speaking to her just as the doctor had instructed.
"The cafeteria made that soothing oatmeal today, the one you always loved. When you wake up, I'll make it for you every single morning, okay?"
"The caretaker made some amazing chicken soup. I had two bowls and saved the rest just for you. You can have it the moment you open your eyes."
She visited every day, talking to her relentlessly.
The caretakers did an immaculate job keeping the child clean and comfortable.
But Seraphina still insisted on doing the personal care herself.
She had this unwavering belief that Lily could hear every word she said.
Leaving the hospital, Seraphina headed straight to Xavier York's office.
Winona Nash was there as well. The two of them were huddled over a computer screen in deep discussion, looking up simultaneously as she walked in.
"Perfect timing," Xavier said, pulling out a spare chair. "Have a seat."
Seraphina set her bag down and took the seat opposite them, getting straight to business. "Cynthia is heavily investing in the new Ross Healthcare division. I ran a background check. They're targeting high-end maternity recovery and assisted reproductive technology. They're sinking massive capital into it, clearly aiming to monopolize the premium sector in Northport."
Winona picked up the thread. "I heard the same thing. They've already opened negotiations with several international medical equipment suppliers and poached a handful of retired specialists from top-tier hospitals to serve as consultants."
A spark of pure ambition lit up Xavier's eyes. "So, what you're suggesting is..."
"We're going to compete with them."
Seraphina met his gaze head-on. "But we take a completely different angle. We abandon the luxury market. We focus entirely on grassroots medical technology solutions. Lower costs, massive accessibility, and we win strictly on technological superiority."
Winona's eyes instantly lit up.
Xavier sat up straighter, a slow grin spreading across his face.
