Dressed in a long black overcoat, the man's imposing aura seemed to silence the entire corridor.

Phoebe jogged to keep up beside him, a small fruit basket swinging in her hand.

Cynthia stopped in her tracks, instinctively backing away toward the wall.

Gideon barely spared her a glance, walking straight toward Seraphina's room.

Phoebe pushed the door open and called out brightly, "Ms. Sinclair!"

Standing in the hallway, Cynthia watched the door close again, her fingers curling into tight fists.

Moments later, the elevator chimed open once more.

Tristan and Vivian stepped out. The man was dressed in a crisp suit, carrying a bag of premium supplements.

Vivian's leg hadn't fully healed yet, so she walked with a slight limp, and Tristan slowed his pace to wait for her.

"Tristan, why are you walking so fast? Seraphina isn't going to run away."

Vivian mumbled under her breath.

Tristan smiled, his eyes fixed on Seraphina's door, his steps involuntarily quickening.

Cynthia shrank further into the corner, watching them walk into the room one by one.

The man strode gracefully down the corridor holding a bouquet of white lilies, and pushed open that very same door.

Cynthia stood alone in the shadows of the hallway, ignored and treated like she was entirely invisible from start to finish.

No one looked at her. No one asked how she was doing.

All those people she had desperately tried to win over were now crammed into Seraphina's hospital room, revolving completely around her.

A suffocating ball of fire lodged in her chest.
