Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 442

Gideon replied, "Don't worry."

He took a step forward. "I guarantee no one will breathe a word of this around Lily."

With that promise, Seraphina felt a massive wave of relief.

Lily's kindergarten was the most exclusive and expensive in Northport, and it actually belonged to one of Gideon's companies.

Now that Gideon had explicitly given the order, Seraphina knew Lily was completely safe.

Meanwhile, at The Regent Grand Hotel.

Cynthia sat in front of the vanity mirror and dialed Dominic's number.

"Dominic," she said softly, injecting her voice with pure, worried devotion. "Are you okay? The news has been so crazy these past few days that I was afraid to bother you, but I just couldn't stop worrying."

On the other end of the line, Dominic leaned back in his office chair. A mountain of documents sat on his desk, and his computer screen glowed with the volatile charts of The Lockwood Group's plummeting stock.

He pinched the bridge of his nose, his voice noticeably hoarser than usual. "I'm fine. I've got it under control."

"Don't push yourself too hard." Cynthia's tone dripped with heartache. "I know you're busy, but you still need to eat, right? I had the housekeeper make some soup. Let me bring it over to you, okay?"

Dominic paused.

Over the past few days, the board had been breathing down his neck, his executives were plotting against him, reporters were constantly ambushing him, and even Winifred had jumped out to stab him in the back.

Everyone was cornering him. Everyone was waiting for him to fail.

Cynthia was the only one who still cared whether or not he had eaten.

"No need," he replied, his voice softening considerably. "You just rest. It's too chaotic over here, and I won't have time to take care of you."

Cynthia let out a gentle hum. "I know. I'm just so worried about you. Focus on your work, and once this blows over, we'll have a proper dinner together."

"Alright," Dominic agreed. "I've neglected you lately, but once I'm done with this, I'll make it up to you."

"Don't say you neglected me." Cynthia smiled sweetly. "I'll wait for you."

As the screen went dark, the affectionate warmth vanished from Cynthia's face, leaving behind nothing but icy calculation.

She tossed the phone onto the bed and turned her head.

Owen was slouched in the armchair by the bed, his expression dark and cynical.

"If you care about him so much, why don't you go keep him company?" Owen sneered, his tone dripping with mockery.

Cynthia stood up, walked over to him, and seamlessly straddled his lap, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
