She had come here today specifically to parade herself as Dominic's fiancée, yet the moment Seraphina returned, the entire room seemed to orbit around her.
Gideon, Tristan, Ethan, and Chelsea—every single one of them had sought Seraphina out the second they walked through the doors.
Why?
How could a divorced woman with a child command the devotion of so many elite individuals?
Cynthia's eyes chilled as she tilted her head toward Dominic.
"Seraphina really is something. Divorced with a kid, and she still has Mr. Spencer, Gideon, and Ethan chasing after her."
Dominic's eyes darkened instantly.
He looked down at Cynthia, his voice laced with overt displeasure. "Don't discuss her private life."
Cynthia's smile froze on her face.
She opened her mouth, intending to defend herself by claiming it was just an idle remark. But meeting Dominic's icy stare, she swallowed the words back down.
"I understand."
She lowered her eyes, looking the picture of a wronged but obedient partner.
But Dominic wasn't looking at her anymore. His gaze was already being pulled back uncontrollably to Seraphina.
When everyone took their seats for the banquet, Tristan deliberately sat next to Seraphina.
He turned to look at her, his eyes warm and affectionate. "Seraphina, I meant what I said earlier. Please just use my first name in private. If you keep calling me Mr. Spencer, I'll start to think you don't view me as a friend."
Seraphina sighed softly. "Of course we're friends. It's just a habit."
At her words, Tristan's smile deepened, though it carried an underlying trace of wistfulness.
"I'm just glad you still consider me a friend."
Seraphina paused slightly.
