Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 488

She had played the sympathy card flawlessly.

She had genuinely stood in the freezing rain for an entire night.

He had clearly softened. He was the one who carried her to the hospital.

So why, upon waking up, was he completely gone, and her number blocked?

Did something else go wrong?

That shouldn't be possible. There was nothing else for him to uncover.

Cynthia's chest heaved violently as she furiously slammed her phone down onto the bed.

She refused to believe it.

She had to get an explanation directly from him.

Glancing up, she saw a nurse pushing a medical cart past her door and stormed over to intercept her.

"Let me borrow your phone."

The nurse gave her a look. "Where is your family?"

Cynthia's tone was icy. "My phone is dead. Let me borrow yours to contact them."

The nurse hesitated for a moment but eventually handed the phone over.

Cynthia punched in the string of numbers she knew by heart.

This time, the call went through.

After a few rings, it was picked up.

"Hello."

The man's voice was completely detached.

Cynthia's throat tightened. "Dominic, it's me."

Over the line, Dominic's tone dropped to subzero temperatures.

"Stop trying to contact me."

Cynthia gripped the phone tighter. "Dominic, please just listen to me. I know I was wrong."

"I'll never do it again."

"I just love you too much. I can't live without you. Please don't abandon me, I really won't survive this."

Dominic's tone didn't shift in the slightest.

"That's your problem."

"As far as I'm concerned, nothing you do matters anymore."

Cynthia gasped, "Dominic..."

"If you harass me one more time, I wouldn't mind making Ross Healthcare vanish from Northport completely."

Cynthia went entirely rigid.

Her voice trembled. "Are you really going to be this ruthless to me?"

Dominic simply hung up.

Beep—beep—

The dead tone pierced her ear.
