Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 526

A lump formed in her throat.

"What took you so long..."

Even though she had been so composed just moments ago, calculating how to buy more time, the sight of Gideon made all her grievances and lingering terror crash over her at once.

A flicker of heartache crossed Gideon's eyes as he helped her sit up.

"I'm sorry. I was late."

Dominic hurried over. Seeing Seraphina's pale face, his chest tightened painfully, and he instinctively reached out his hand.

"Seraphina, I'll take you to the hospital."

Before his hand could even brush against her, Gideon stepped smoothly between them, leaned down, and swept her up into his arms.

Dominic's outstretched hand froze in midair.

Seraphina was utterly exhausted; her frantic struggling had drained every last drop of her strength.

Now, held securely against Gideon's chest, she lacked even the energy to speak. She simply leaned against him, her eyes heavy with fatigue.

Gideon glanced down at her, his arms instinctively tightening around her waist. He turned his head and issued a chilling command. "Myles, don't let a single person here get away."

"Find out the identity of every single person involved in this kidnapping."

His gaze swept over the scattered medical equipment, the ice in his eyes deepening.

"And there is no reason for this underground clinic to exist anymore."

Myles nodded immediately. "Don't worry, Mr. Cole. I'll handle it. All the evidence will be secured and handed over to the police for prosecution."

Gideon didn't waste another second. He carried Seraphina out with long, purposeful strides.

The car was already waiting outside. The accompanying private doctor quickly gave Seraphina a preliminary examination. Once he confirmed she was in no immediate, life-threatening danger, the driver sped off toward a legitimate hospital.

Dominic stood rooted to the spot, watching the car disappear into the distance. A wave of profound gloom washed over his eyes.

The look of absolute relief on Seraphina's face the moment she saw Gideon—he had seen all of it.

Once upon a time, she used to rely on him like that.

But now, when she was in danger, he was no longer the first person she looked to for salvation.

Dominic pressed his lips into a tight line and turned to get into his own car.
