Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 531

After returning home, Dominic hastily bandaged the scrape on his hand and sat alone in his study, waiting for the report.

It wasn't until past nine o'clock that Tobias finally called.

"Mr. Lockwood, I have the results."

"The man who rammed your car today was indeed involved in an investment project managed by Ross Healthcare. At the time, they promised exorbitant returns and claimed the project was fully backed by The Lockwood Group, guaranteeing zero risk."

"In reality, the project never even launched. The raised capital was continuously funneled through various shell accounts before the operation was abruptly declared a failure, leaving the investors with absolutely nothing."

Tobias paused, his voice turning even more grim.

"And there are many other victims just like him."

Dominic's grip on his phone tightened aggressively.

"What do you mean?"

"We dug deeper and discovered that Daniel and Charles Ross have been exploiting The Lockwood Group's reputation for years."

"They haven't just been running illegal fundraising scams via fictitious projects with fake high-yield promises. They've also been substituting substandard materials in their product lines, passing off cheap goods as premium items to rake in massive profits."

"On top of that, they've been using their status as a Lockwood partner to aggressively solicit investments everywhere. They even packaged entirely fake ventures as priority projects subsidized by Lockwood's, defrauding investors of massive amounts of capital."

Dominic's face turned icy cold.

"Why did no one report this to Lockwood's before?"

"Mr. Lockwood, some did try to report it, but it seems the Ross family suppressed all the information. Now, some investors have lost everything and been pushed to the brink—resulting in actual fatalities. Furthermore, several consumers have suffered severe injuries after purchasing defective products manufactured by Ross Healthcare."

Tobias took a deep breath.

"The Ross family has been constantly scrambling to cover all of this up."

"Our preliminary findings show that Daniel and Charles secretly transferred massive sums of money offshore. Many of the victims still believe they were doing business directly with Lockwood's."

"So the moment Ross Healthcare went under, they naturally redirected all their fury at you."

Hearing this, Dominic's expression became unspeakably vicious.

His leniency toward the Ross family over the years had actually emboldened them to commit such severe, systemic fraud!

What was even more laughable was that he had always believed the Ross family was just incompetent at business and needed Lockwood's charity. He had no idea the capital and reputation he provided had become the very weapons they used to scam the public.
