Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 539

...

During the drive, amidst the casual chatter, Zachary brought up Helena.

"Come to think of it, she had her reasons for finally turning in that evidence."

Seraphina paused slightly.

"What do you mean?"

Zachary sighed.

"I only found out when I contacted her earlier. After she went through hell to get Charles out of trouble and put everything behind them to remarry him, the bastard went right back to hooking up with his old flame!"

"What?"

Clara's eyes widened in shock.

"And the woman got pregnant too."

Zachary shook his head, his tone dripping with disgust.

"Once Charles found out, he actually demanded Helena give up her house for the woman to live in, and even wanted Helena to wait on her hand and foot during the pregnancy! He threatened to throw her out if she refused."

Seraphina could hardly believe her ears.

She knew Charles was shameless, but she never imagined he could be this repulsive!

Helena had lost an eye for him, and despite everyone's warnings, she had chosen to forgive him and take him back.

And this was how she was repaid?

Clara slapped her thigh in anger.

"What an absolute animal! Helena is a fool too. If she knew what kind of man he was, why did she keep forgiving him?"

Arthur sighed.

"That's why she finally woke up this time. She realized some people are just rotten to the core. If they cross the line once, they're never going to change. She learned her lesson the hard way and chose to expose him, even if it meant paying a heavy price herself..."

Seraphina looked out the window, overcome with emotion.

It was true. Some men were just like that—the more you forgave them without limits, the more they took your sacrifices for granted.

At that thought, she suddenly felt immensely grateful that she had left Dominic in time.

Otherwise, who knew if she would have ended up any better than Helena?
