Vengeful Billionaire and His Lovers (Jerome Howard) novel Chapter 10

Chapter 10 Rosalie, Shut Him Up

The nurse brought in an extra bed, and Rosalie stayed in the hospital room with Henry that night.

The next morning, Henry woke up to find Rosalie tidying up the hospital room.

The room was already clean, but now it was spotless. A flower bouquet sat on the cabinet by the side, freshening up the air in the room with a light fragrance.

“You’re awake. I just bought breakfast. I’ll feed you.”

Rosalie quickly headed to him and sat by his bed, picking up the soup she had just bought.

Henry smiled awkwardly. “Rosalie, I can do it on my own.”

He sat up, leaning against the headboard.

Rosalie’s bright, clear eyes darkened slightly. “But you’re hurt… you’re still recovering. You need to be taken care of…”

Seeing that she didn’t know what to do, Henry felt strangely guilty. He quickly said, “Alright, then.”

Rosalie’s lips curled up into a happy smile.

She blew gently on the soup, feeding Henry carefully.

Rosalie was close enough that Henry could smell the slight fragrance on her. It was intoxicating.

It seemed to bother him, so he shifted uncomfortably.

Fortunately, his attention was shifted when Rosalie spoke, “Henry, I have to talk to you about something. My mentor heard about your injury. She said to make sure not to amputate your leg. She can help.”

“What?”

Henry was surprised, and a delighted look crossed his face. “Is that what Kylah said? Can she really help?”

Rosalie smiled, “She said she’s still overseas, so she’ll have to come back first. For the time being, I’ll give you massages and needle

treatment.”

Hearing this, Henry let out a long sigh. The image of a mature, sexy, and alluring figure flashed through his mind.

Kylah Stein was the director of the orphanage. She was a mysterious woman. Rosalie had learned everything she knew from Kylah.

If Kylah said she could help, Henry would not give up hope.

After breakfast, Rosalie cleared everything up.

At this moment, the door opened and two people walked in.

“You!” Henry exclaimed, his voice cold as his eyes narrowed.

“I heard someone broke your legs, so I came to see you. Don’t be too upset, at least you’re alive. Guess surviving a disaster means you’re due for a lucky break, right?”

It was Ethan who had walked in, grinning widely as he strutted in, accompanied by a round-faced woman.

Rosalie immediately stopped what she was doing, sitting down on the chair next to Henry’s bed. She acted as if whatever was happening was none of her business.

However, from Henry’s perspective, he could tell that she wasn’t sitting as she usually did. Her muscles were tensed, almost like a panther that was waiting for the right moment to pounce.

Henry patted Rosalie’s shoulder lightly, telling her to relax. Then, he spoke calmly to Ethan, “It’s none of your business. Is there something you want to say? If not, get out.”

Ethan’s smile widened as he laughed, “I’m showing concern for you! Look, I even brought some supplements for you. This will help you recover after your amputation!”

Henry didn’t bother being polite and snapped coldly, “Enough with your pretence. Get out.”

He didn’t want to see Ethan. He was afraid he might lose control and actually kill him.

Rosalie was ready to act at any time. As long as Henry gave the word, Ethan would be dead within three seconds.

However, Ethan was even more delighted to see Henry annoyed. He sneered, “Kid, you brought this on yourself. Not everyone is so easy to handle. You’ll have to bear the consequences of your impulsiveness.”

Henry just looked back at Ethan quietly with no expression on his face.

In an instant, she closed the distance between herself and Ethan. Rosalie’s right hand clenched into a fist, her middle finger protruding like a tiny spike, and she struck lightning-fast at the left side of Ethan’s neck.

Her movements were fast, precise, and sharp.

Ethan had no idea what had hit him. He merely felt a jab like a needle prick before his voice caught in his throat, and he passed out, falling to the ground.

Rosalie pulled back at this time, acting as if nothing had happened, sitting back down in the chair. It was almost as if she had nothing to do with what had happened.

“Ethan!” The round-faced girl exclaimed and quickly bent down to check on him.

“He’s fine. He just passed out. What’s your name?” Henry smiled at her.

The girl trembled, quietly glancing at Rosalie. She looked terrified, and she swallowed before answering, “I’m Libby Edwards. He… is he really alright?”

Henry nodded gently, watching Libby with a deep look before he said, “Call a nurse and get them to carry him outside. He should wake up in a few hours.”

Libby quickly nodded and hurried out of the room.

A short while later, two nurses pushed a stretcher in and took Ethan out of the room. The room fell into silence once again.

Luciana was the first to break the silence.

“I don’t know why he came. I wasn’t eating alone with him yesterday. The project partners were all having a meal together. Don’t misunderstand.”

Luciana explained before she turned to Rosalie. “Rosalie, it’s been a while.”

Rosalie nodded, “Yeah, it has.”

Luciana smiled slightly. “Rosalie, you’re still so pretty. Do you have a boyfriend? If you don’t mind, I can introduce someone to you. They’re all from prominent and well-off families!”

“There’s no need. I’m staying to take care of Henry,” Rosalie said, shaking her head without any hesitation.

Luciana’s expression changed, her eyes narrowing with a hint of hostility.

After a short silence, she said, “Rosalie, I need to speak to my husband privately. Could you leave us alone?”
