Just then, several sharp whooshing sounds cut through the air. From the high wall, a few flares were launched, arcing far into the distance, lighting up a huge stretch of land.

Everyone’s eyes widened in shock.

“Holy crap! They’re all mutant beasts!”

Reina saw it too. In the distance, the ground was packed with mutant beasts of every kind.

Even worse, it was not just the distance. Less than 10 feet in front of her, the ground was crawling with insects.

These creatures ranged from about one to three feet in length. Some looked like millipedes, others like centipedes. A few resembled leeches or pill bugs. A dense black mass covered the ground.

As they crawled, the insects made a faint rustling sound, like light rain falling on the earth.

They moved fast. In the blink of an eye, they were already close.

People screamed in fear. Flamethrowers were aimed at the ground and fired, forcing some of the insects back.

Reina also raised her flamethrower and swept it across the ground, clearing a small safe area.

Reina felt delighted, though her face remained calm. She continued killing insects while harvesting items.
