The poison sac burst open inside the beast’s mouth with a dull pop. The mutant beast that had been lunging forward instantly stiffened. Because of its momentum, its body still slammed straight into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Everyone who saw this was stunned. Then they watched as the slender girl rushed over to the mutant beast and reached out to touch its head.

She touched it once. Then again. And again. After the third touch, the mutant beast’s rigid body suddenly went limp, as if something had drained all the life from it.

As for the other mutant beast, it was brought down by the combined efforts of several nearby teams.

“Is it dead?” Chloe gathered her courage and stepped closer to take a look. “Huh? It still seems to be breathing.”

“Not yet.” Reina pulled Chloe back a few steps.

Just now, she had harvested two points of Agility, two points of Strength, and one Level 3 energy crystal core from the mutant beast.

She quietly absorbed the Level 3 energy crystal core in her hand. To her surprise, her Physique increased by two points as well.

Reina took the flamethrower off her shoulder and handed it to Chloe. “Take this. Protect your brother and sister-in-law.”

By now, Gerard had already carried his wife back to the camp. The mercenaries guarding the gate did not stop him. They even pointed him toward the infirmary.

“What about you?” Chloe looked at Reina with worry.

Reina smiled. “I can protect myself. Don’t worry.”

With her current speed, she was nearly as fast as an Agility Ability User. As long as she did not run straight into a mutant beast’s claws or jaws, she shouldn’t be injured easily.

“Be careful.” Chloe took the flamethrower and slung it over her shoulder.

That thing consumed energy stones quickly, so it had to be saved for critical moments.

Reina nodded and turned to sprint toward the battlefield not far away.

If she wanted more attributes, she had to take the initiative.

Just moments ago, she had started to understand some of the patterns behind her ability.

For example, harvesting from dead mutant beasts almost always gave a piece of clean, edible meat.

But harvesting from living creatures could grant their attributes.

If she harvested from the same mutant beast several times in a row, she might even obtain an energy crystal core.

Once a mutant beast lost its crystal core, its bodily functions would quickly weaken.

This was practically a unique method of killing mutant beasts.

So she had to seize this chance and harvest from as many mutant beasts as possible. Using her skill only took a second or two. As long as she could touch a mutant beast, then she would successfully harvest something..

In just a moment, Reina had already rushed near a mutant wild boar.

Several ability users were attacking the massive creature.

An Earth Ability User stomped the ground, and dozens of stone spikes shot up from the earth, instantly trapping the mutant wild boar.

The others fired their guns at it. One Metal Ability User even formed a sharp spear with his power and viciously stabbed at the boar’s eye.

One of the boar’s eyes was pierced, and blood splattered everywhere. With a furious roar, it leapt forward, breaking through the stone spikes. Its enormous body charged straight toward the Metal Ability User.

The Metal Ability User had no time to dodge. He could only turn part of his body into metal and take the hit head-on.

The result was brutal. The 5’5″ mutant wild boar slammed into him and sent him flying. He crashed heavily into another team, knocking one of their members unconscious on the spot.

Reina seized the opportunity. She dashed forward, leapt over, and pressed her hand against the boar’s rear before activating her Harvesting Ability.

Ding! “Energy-1. Harvest successful. EXP +50. Gained Physique +2.”

The boar shuddered violently. It spun around and glared at Reina. Blood streamed from one eye, while the other burned with shock and fury.

“Roar!”

It threw its head back and bellowed. The bristles along its body stood upright as it turned and charged at the hateful little human
