Chapter 22 Stop Dragging Your Feet
Chapter 22 Stop Dragging Your Feet
She shoved all the potions into a waist pouch, then buckled it tight against her body.
This was her most valuable property, and she absolutely could not let anyone snatch it.
After thinking for a moment, she took out two more energy recovery potions and tucked them into her sleeves for easy access.
As for the insect repellent, she usually kept it in the chest pocket of her protective suit, ready to grab and use anytime.
After tidying up her protective suit, slinging on her backpack and flamethrower, Reina carried her machete and headed for the camp entrance.
The moment she stepped out of the camp, chaos hit her in the face.
Countless mutant beasts charged into the crowd, biting and tearing like crazy.
The human squads’ formation had already been smashed apart, and the scene had turned into a living hell.
Reina jumped in shock and was about to back off, when someone shoved her hard from behind.
“Stop dragging your feet! Hurry up and save people!”
A guard pointed his gun at her and barked, “And don’t even think about running, unless you want to get shot!”
As he spoke, he flicked his eyes toward the camp’s high wall.
Reina instinctively looked up and saw a bunch of people crouched on the wall, more than 66 feet high. They were fully armed, firing down at the mutant beasts.
Reina swallowed, gave up the idea of escaping, and charged at the nearest mutant beast with her machete.
After a few slashes, the mutant beast dropped to the ground.
She did not even have time to go collect anything before another mutant beast rushed her, so she could keep swinging
All of a sudden, someone yanked her back. She turned her head and saw a horned mutant beast charging straight past, its long. sharp horn barely scraping by the backpack behind her.
Good thing someone had pulled her, or she would have been skewered on that horn.
“Thanks!” Reina threw a quick thank you to the person who helped, did not dare say anything else, and immediately raised her machete to kill.
With 12 points of Strength, 15 points of Agility, and a sharp machete, she had no pressure at all dealing with a horned beast
After a few slashes, the horned beast let out a shriek and fell
After that came an endless, brutal light.
And the mutant beasts kept coming, wave after wave. They surged through the crowd in packs, throwing everything into chaos.
Screams rang out nonstop. The human side was getting wrecked and suffering heavy losses.

The wounded who could still clutch their wounds had ran for the camp. The ones who could not move were torn into pieces on the spot.
The stench of blood spread across the battlefield, stirring up the beasts’ cruelty and bloodlust even more.
Reina’s machete had chipped, and her arms were so sore and numb she could barely lift them.
There was no end to it. No way to kill them all.
Just as the urge to run started to rise in her, she suddenly heard someone shout, “Oh my god! What is that?”
“It’s a Godzilla beast!”
“It’s definitely a Level 5 beast. We’re done. We’re all going to die!”
Right after that came even fiercer gunfire and explosions.
Bang bang bang! Rat-tat-tat! Boom boom!
A high, savage bellow cut through it all, like a demon roaring from the abyss.
Reina looked toward the gunfire and saw several massive mutant beasts slowly walking out of the darkness, each step making the ground tremble.
The giant beasts were about 16 to 20 feet tall and 26 to 30 feet long, wreathed in black mist and giving off a terrifying aura.
Even worse, two thick, sharp horns had grown from their foreheads, and rows of spikes stood up along their backs, exactly the same as the giant beasts that had destroyed Camp 53.
Reina’s heart sank.
Mutant beasts at this level are no longer afraid of bullets, and the thick, thorny hide on their bodies is solid armor.
The mercenaries’ guns are useless against them.
There is no way to fight this.
Even an armored vehicle would get crushed under one stomp from that thing.
Sure enough, the mercenary group’s armored vehicles started pulling back too, and someone shouted through a loudspeaker, “All personnel return to the camp first! All personnel return to the camp first!”
Whoosh!
Everyone turned around and ran for the camp gate.
Reina was swept along and forced back into the camp with them.
She was so exhausted she almost collapsed, and she sprinted back to Building 7.
The camp was completely out of control now. There was no one left to keep order.
The moment she entered her room, Reina pulled down her mask to drink water, tossed her backpack aside, and fell onto the bed to rest as fast as she could.
