Chapter 57 Cut Off Completely
Norman didn’t know what to say.
He knew about this matter. Norman had even tried to persuade his older sister not to go that far/
But she had been determined to go through with it anyway.
Sigh. What’s the point of bringing it up now?
Finished
What mattered now was that his sister and Stella urgently needed 200,000 points for bail. As a low-level bank clerk, how was he supposed to afford that?
Even if he could, he didn’t want to.
Norman steadied his emotions and continued speaking to his niece in a soft tone. “Reina, don’t listen to outsiders talking nonsense. Nothing like that happened.”
Reina let out a cold laugh. “It was Elise who told me herself. She said when my father left, he prepaid eight years of her contract salary so she could take care of me properly. But my mother dismissed her anyway over that money, and even demanded the remaining compensation. When she refused, she had Stella’s father come to the door and threaten her.”
Norman rubbed his temples, trying to stay calm. “Reina, don’t believe what outsiders say…”
“Outsiders? But that ‘outsider’ was always kind to me, and she was even kinder than my own mother. Even after her contract salary was taken, she still came to see me from time to time and brought me food.”
Unfortunately, she had passed away a few years ago. Her children had also disappeared somewhere. Reina had never been able to find them since.
She closed her eyes for a moment, suppressing the tight knot in her chest.
“Uncle Norman, I actually know everything. That three-bedroom apartment was something my father bought for me so I would have somewhere to live. Before he left, he even left my mother one million points, hoping she would take care of me until adulthood.
“So why? I didn’t do anything wrong, I never spent a single point of hers. Why did she treat me like this? Was I not good enough? Or, am I not even her real daughter?”
Tears slipped down silently as she spoke,
Norman fell silent for a long moment. Then, he tried to explain again, “Reina, your mother was influenced by others. And no matter what, she is still your mother. The one who gave birth to you and raised you. You can’t hold a grudge over something like this forever,”
“Something like this?”
Reina let out a soft, broken laugh and wiped her tears away. “Yes, I will hold a grudge for life.”
Because she had already confirmed it. What she saw in that dream had likely been real, and maybe it had even been a past life.

Chapter 57 Cut Off Completely
Which meant she had truly been killed by her own mother and sister once before.
Finished
And in this life, if she hadn’t been alert enough to leave that house early, she would have ended up exactly the same way again.
So why shouldn’t she hate them?
Norman finally lost patience. “Reina, I’ll be honest with you. Your mother is acting this way toward you because she still resents your father.
“She was young back then, carefree, and somehow got involved with him. After she got pregnant, she wanted him to take her back to Impista to meet his family, but he kept delaying. Later, you were born, and out of anger, she stopped caring for you properly.
“If you’re going to hold a grudge, you should hold it against your biological father instead. He abandoned you and disappeared without a word.”
Reina asked flatly, “Are you done? I’m hanging up if you are.”
She had no desire left to speak another word with any of the Fosters.
Norman panicked when he heard that. “Can you stop being so stubborn? Your mother and sister are in custody now. They need 200,000 points for bail. You are responsible for this!”
Reina sneered. “They were detained because they committed a crime. Why should I, the victim, pay for their bail?”
“They are your blood family!” Norman snapped in frustration.
“So what?” Reina’s tone turned icy.
“You’re family too. Why don’t you go bail them out?”
“Ah, right, maybe you also benefited from the one million points my mother squandered. Otherwise, how did a man with no ability like you get a job at a bank?”
Norman’s face instantly flushed red, veins bulging at his neck. “You’re talking nonsense! I got into the bank because of my qualifications!”
“Of course you did,” Reina said lightly. “All of you did. A family of poor souls abandoned by their father. Your sister even worked in night entertainment at one point. Yet somehow, you all climbed into inner-city life and started living like elites.
“So tell me, if you’re all so capable, why are you scheming against a girl who’s barely an adult?”
Norman didn’t know how to answer.
After a long silence, he softened his tone again. “Reina, don’t be like this. Because of this situation, Sheila even took Layla back to her family’s home.”
“Oh, really? That’s great!”
