When She Ended It With Divorce (Chiara and Titus) novel Chapter 120

**Chapter 120**

Titus halted, his gaze intense, a flicker of something unspoken dancing in the depths of his eyes.

“You agreed?” he inquired, his voice low and steady, as if he were testing the waters of a fragile promise.

Chiara’s fingers tightened into fists, her eyes locked onto his with a fierce intensity, as though she were attempting to peer into the very essence of his being.

“Before you say anything else, I need a straight answer. Can you truly do this?” Chiara pressed, her voice tinged with urgency.

Titus noticed the subtle tremor of anxiety that crossed her features, a fleeting glimpse of vulnerability that tugged at him. Without a moment’s hesitation, he unfastened his seatbelt, wrapped his arms around her, and captured her lips in a passionate kiss that left no room for doubt.

Chiara was taken aback, her initial instinct to push him away rising to the surface.

Yet Titus held her firmly in place, his grip unwavering, as if he feared she might vanish if he loosened his hold even slightly.

After several futile attempts to break free, Chiara began to relent, surrendering to the fervor of his kiss, her body responding to the heat of the moment.

Time slipped away from them, and neither could tell how long they remained entwined in that embrace.

Eventually, Titus pulled back, burying his face in the crook of her neck, seeking solace in her warmth. His voice came out deep and gravelly, a hint of resolve threading through his words. “Alright. I won’t see her again,” he declared, the weight of his promise hanging in the air.

Chiara’s heart raced, a sudden jolt coursing through her. She clutched the hem of her shirt, her voice soft yet insistent, almost pleading.

“You made a promise, and you have to keep it. If you let me down…” she trailed off, her words laced with an unspoken fear.

Before she could finish her thought, Titus interrupted, drawing her closer once more, his arm extending across the seat as if to shield her from any lingering doubts.

The car glided smoothly into the yard, and Lindsay, feeling the exhaustion of the day weighing heavily on her, couldn’t help but steal glances at the scene unfolding before her. “Why are they taking so long to get out?” she muttered under her breath, irritation creeping into her tone.

Curiosity gnawed at her, but Lindsay knew better than to overstep her boundaries. She remained rooted in her place, peering out occasionally, until finally, after what felt like an eternity, the car door swung open. Titus emerged from the driver’s seat, walked around to the passenger side, and effortlessly lifted Chiara into his arms.

Lindsay’s eyes widened in surprise as she watched Titus carry Chiara into the house.

“Mr. Goodman, what happened to Mrs. Goodman?” she inquired, her voice laced with concern.

Chiara, feeling the heat of embarrassment rise to her cheeks, kept her gaze lowered, unable to meet Lindsay’s questioning eyes.

Titus raised an eyebrow, a teasing glimmer in his expression, as he recalled how Chiara had melted against him mere moments ago. His eyes darkened with an unmistakable desire.

“It’s nothing. She’s just tired,” he replied, his voice low and husky, masking the truth behind playful deflection.

“Oh, just tired?” Lindsay echoed, still a bit bewildered by the situation.

With Chiara still cradled in his arms, Titus ascended the stairs, leaving Lindsay standing there, utterly perplexed.

“Did Mr. Goodman’s chin look a little shiny just now?” Lindsay murmured to herself, a realization dawning on her.

Suddenly, everything clicked into place, and her cheeks flushed a deep crimson.

“You two must be seeing things. Get back to work and whip up some late-night snacks,” she said, attempting to maintain her composure.

Yet, in the back of her mind, one word echoed: ‘desperate.’

Once Titus gently set Chiara down on the bed, she finally opened her eyes, meeting his gaze. The way he looked at her, as if he were unwrapping a precious gift, sent her heart racing in a flurry of anticipation.

Chiara’s heart skipped a beat, and instinctively, she scooted back, a wave of fluster washing over her.

“You were way too much just now. What if Lindsay or the others find out?” she hissed, mortified by the thought of their earlier encounter.

The mere memory of what had transpired in the car made her cheeks burn with embarrassment, and she felt an overwhelming urge to hide beneath the sheets.

Covering her eyes with her hand, she tried to shield herself from the reality of the moment.

“Isn’t it my turn now?” Titus teased, a playful smirk dancing on his lips.

Chiara, flustered beyond belief, quickly clamped her hand over his mouth, her voice a fierce whisper, “Don’t you dare say another word. Not a single word.”

Titus raised an eyebrow, a wicked glint in his eyes, before slowly licking her palm, igniting a rush of warmth that made her heart race.

Startled, Chiara yanked her hand back, her breath hitching in her throat.
