When She Ended It With Divorce (Chiara and Titus) novel Chapter 180

Chapter 180

Chiara’s face instantly darkened at his words. She turned to Titus, her gaze icy.

“In your dreams,” she shot back.

With that, she hurried up the steps, clutching Ryan tightly, wanting to put as much distance between them as possible before Titus could say anything else outrageous.

Ryan blinked up at him and called out, “Daddy!”

This time, his little voice was even clearer than before.

But Chiara had already gone inside the house.

Titus stared at the door Chiara had shut so quickly, his eyes shadowed. The way she’d hurried to close him out made it clear she wanted to keep him as far away as possible.

Ana came out when she heard the commotion. “What’s going on?”

Chiara’s heart was racing. It was not from excitement, but because she was scared out of her wits.

She was worried Titus might get any funny ideas, so she made sure to speak up first.

Chiara glanced at Ana and shook her head. “Nothing’s wrong.”

“You look a little pale. Are you sure you’re alright?” Ana asked.

Chiara shook her head again and exhaled slowly. “I’m fine.”

“Ryan, come over to me and let your mom take a break for a while.”

Ryan did as he was told and reached out his hands to Ana.

Ana usually shot short clips of Ryan’s daily life and sent them straight to Debby.

So everyone in the Goodman family was glued to Debby’s phone every day, replaying those videos again and again. They just couldn’t get enough.

There were also tons of photos of Ryan growing up, from his baby days all the way to now.

After recording the video, Ana said, “Chiara, I noticed there’s a locked room in the house. Is that a storage room or something? Ryan’s outgrown some of his clothes, and I can’t bear throwing them away. I was thinking of saving them so he could look at them when he’s older.”

Chiara glanced up at the stairs. It really was a storage room. She honestly couldn’t remember the last time she’d even been there.

“Chiara?” Ana’s voice brought her back.

Chiara replied, “Yeah, it’s a storage room. It’s full of old stuff I don’t use anymore.”

With that, she went upstairs to the study to look for the key to the storage room.

After searching for a few minutes, she finally found the key. She made her way to the storage room. The doorknob was spotless, since Ana always wiped it down during her cleaning rounds.

Chiara glanced at the key in her hand. She hadn’t thought about this room in ages, but Ana’s words reminded her of the things stored inside.

Honestly, there was no reason to hold onto any of them anymore. She figured it was time to let go and burn them all.

She opened the door, and a wave of dust hit her right in the face.

She walked over, pulled open the curtains, and threw the window wide open to air the place out.

Only then did she look up at the photos on the wall. Seeing all that stuff about Titus again, she found herself zoning out for a second.

Sure, they were all pictures of Titus, but every single one was all her memories.

After spacing out for a moment, she walked over, ripped the photos down, and dumped them into a box.

Then she went looking for that old diary.

But after searching for ages, she still couldn’t find it. She frowned, sure she’d put the diary in there.

She pulled out her phone and dialed Heather’s number.

“Hello, Chiara?” Heather answered.

“Hey, Heather, have you seen that diary I left in the upstairs storage room?” Chiara asked.

Heather was silent for a few seconds before she finally said, “You went in there?”

“Yeah, I was planning to tidy up the place. Mrs. Walker wanted to store some of Ryan’s old clothes, but I’ve been looking for that diary for a while and can’t find it anywhere. I’m sure I locked it in there. No one else has been inside here, have they?” Chiara asked.

“Chiara…” Heather hesitated.

“Yeah?” Chiara replied.

“Titus went in there before. I gave him the key,” Heather admitted.

Chiara froze, unable to wrap her head around it. “When was that?”

“The first time you told me you wanted a divorce, I figured if he didn’t love you, he should just let you go. So I showed him the diary. He was all set to let you go back then, but for some reason, he changed his mind,” Heather explained.

Chiara’s thoughts flashed back. Yeah, Titus did want a divorce at first.

He’d even drawn up the divorce papers himself. She’d read them. They were fair and reasonable, and it was obvious he’d drafted them himself.

But before Titus could sign, he backed out.

Chiara thought, ‘So the reason Titus wanted a divorce back then was because he came into this room? That’s when he realized I’d always had feelings for him.

‘But he never brought it up. Not once.

‘So when he changed his mind and wanted to give us another shot, was it because he knew I liked him? Maybe that actually touched him, even if just a little.

‘He probably figured he’d never find someone who fit him so well and was crazy about him like I was. What a fool I must look to him.’

Chiara felt a rush of emotions.

“Chiara, I’m sorry. If you can’t find the diary, I think Titus probably took it back then. I’ll ask him to give it back to you,” Heather said.

Chiara spoke up after hearing that. “No, it’s fine, Heather.

“It’s alright. If he took it, that’s okay. I was planning to get rid of it anyway. I won’t bother you anymore. Go ahead and get back to work.”

Heather frowned at her phone after the call ended. Kason glanced over at her.

“What’s up? Is your favorite little sister having drama again?” Kason asked with a smirk.

Heather shot him a look. “You got something against my sister?”

“Me? Wouldn’t dare,” Kason said lazily, propping his hands on her desk. “Honestly, she’s kind of a force. She just showed up with that kid, and Titus broke up with that actress right after. Looks like he’s still hung up on your sister.”

Heather just replied coolly, “Not a chance.”

Kason let out a sly laugh. “Don’t be so sure. They do have a kid together, you know.”

Heather finally glanced up at him. “Since when are you so gossipy?”

Kason grabbed her pen and twirled it in his fingers. “Hey, what can I say? Life’s dull. Gotta spice it up

somehow.”

Right then, there was a knock at Heather’s office door.

“Come in,” Heather called out.
