When She Ended It With Divorce (Chiara and Titus) novel Chapter 250

Chapter 250

Chapter 250

Heather sat with a blank look in front of the mirror, letting the makeup artists do whatever they wanted to her face.

“Ms. Lynch, your makeup’s done. Are you happy with it?” one of the artists asked.

Heather opened her eyes and stared at her reflection. She just sat there in shock for a good thirty seconds, totally speechless.

Even the staff started to get a little nervous, not sure what was going on.

“Ms. Lynch? This is the trendiest smoky eye look this year. It totally matches your style,” one of them said.

‘Smoky eye? They think this suits me? Are they saying I come off as cold?’ she wondered to herself.

“Did Mr. Bradford ask for this look?” Heather asked.

Yes, Ms. Lynch. Are you not happy with it? If you want, we can do it all over again for you,” the artist replied.

‘Redo it? Seriously? How late would that make us?’ she wondered.

“Forget it, just leave it like this,” Heather said.

“Alright, Ms. Lynch. Mr. Bradford already picked out your dress for you,” the staff member said.

Heather got up and walked into the dressing room, but when she saw the nearly see-through, barely-there dress waiting for her, her expression immediately darkened.

“Did he pick this?” she asked, her tone frosty.

The staff member nodded. “Yes, Ms. Lynch. This is our brand new arrival for the month. It’s the only one we’ve got in stock. I’m sure you’ll look drop-dead gorgeous in it.”

To Heather, this strappy dress felt way too exposed, but to the staff, it was just a regular dress.

After all, their store carried even bolder pieces. This one just bared the back, the entire back actually, but that barely-there, teasing kind of sexy was exactly what made it so irresistible.

Heather, her face still cold, hooked a finger under the thin strap at the back of the dress.

“Is this what you want me to wear?” she asked, her voice icy.

The staff member caught on to her concerns and quickly grabbed the sheer shawl nearby.

“Ms. Lynch, here’s the shawl. It comes with the outfit. But honestly, we think you’ll look even better without it,” she said.

‘Seriously? They call this a shawl? It’s so sheer, it barely covers anything, Heather thought.

Just get me a different dress,” she said, her tone leaving no room for argument.

The staff exchanged glances, a bit helpless, and ended up wheeling over a clothing rack.

“Ms. Lynch, Mr. Bradford said if you’re not into what he picked out, you can go ahead and choose for yourself. These are all the newest styles this month. See if anything catches your eye,” the staff member said.

But when Heather saw those dresses, each one shorter and more revealing than the last, her expression turned downright frosty.

Compared to those, Kason’s pick was actually the lesser evil. Sure, it bared her back, but at least the front was decently

covered.

Plus, there was that sheer layer on top, so at least she wasn’t completely exposed.

The staff were getting nervous as Heather still hadn’t picked anything.

Suddenly, the dressing room curtain was pulled open.

Everyone looked up. Kason was standing there with his hands in his pockets, making the whole room freeze.

His eyes landed on Heather, her face cold as ice but smoldering hot with that makeup. His gaze darkened, but he didn’t let it show.

After a moment of eye contact, he finally drawled, “What’s taking so long?”

“What’s taking so long?” he drawled, sounding totally unbothered.

The staff moved aside a little. “Mr. Bradford, Ms. Lynch still hasn’t picked out a dress.”

Heather stared Kason down, her tone frosty. “You did this on purpose, didn’t you?”

Kason arched an eyebrow, giving the dresses a careless once-over.

“On purpose? What are you talking about?” he replied, totally unfazed.

Heather jabbed a finger at the rack, her voice sharp. “Is there seriously not a single dress here that’s actually normal?”

Kason squinted, then casually grabbed the light gray silk dress he’d picked out for her earlier from the staff.

“Enlighten me. What exactly is so wrong with this dress?” he asked.

Heather didn’t say a word. It wasn’t that the dress was outrageous or anything. It was just that she’d basically never worn something this daring before.

‘It’s not like I’m some prude or stuck in the past,’ Heather thought to herself, ‘I’m just really not used to this kind of thing.

Kason checked his watch, totally unfazed. “You’ve got five minutes to get changed. If you’re not out by then, I’ll personally come in and help you change.”

Her expression turned downright icy. The staff exchanged nervous glances and were just about to leave the dressing room when…

Heather snatched the dress and snapped, “You, out!”

Between getting changed herself and letting Kason do it for her, Heather knew exactly which option to choose.

Kason arched an eyebrow, taking in her commanding aura, and gave a cryptic little laugh.

‘Knew it, he thought.

Heather really fit this style perfectly, cold and sexy….

Honestly, Heather like this was way more irresistible to him than any sweet, flirty version.

Kason’s eyes narrowed, his gaze sweeping coolly over the staff, making his meaning crystal clear.

One of the staff gave a subtle signal, and they all quickly made themselves scarce, slipping out of the dressing room.

Heather clutched the dress in her hands, realizing it was so flimsy it didn’t even measure up to her washcloth.

When Kason still didn’t budge, she shot him a glare and barked,

“You too, out!” she snapped.

Kason’s eyes darkened as he stared at her, his voice low. “I’ve changed my mind.”

Heather met his gaze, and when she saw how intense his eyes had gotten, a chill ran through her.

“Are you deaf? I said get out!” she snapped.

She immediately reached out, ready to push him out of the dressing room herself.

With how much stronger Kason was, he didn’t move an inch. Instead, he grabbed Heather’s wrist, spun her around, and made her face the mirror behind them.

“What are you doing? Let me go!” Heather snapped, glaring at him.

She struggled to break free, but his arms locked around her, holding her tight. All she could do was look up at their reflection in the mirror.

“So, do you want me to get changed or not?” Heather shot back, her voice sharp.

“Of course you do,” Kason murmured, his lips close to her ear, voice low and teasing. “I told you, I’m going to help you get changed.”

Heather’s expression shifted in an instant. She locked eyes with their reflection in the mirror, forcing herself to stay calm and collected.

“No, I’ll do it myself. Get out, now!” she said, her voice controlled but firm.

But Kason was clearly determined to help her get changed. His fingers were already reaching for the buttons on her nightshirt.

Chiara’s heart was pounding, her brow furrowed in anxiety, but all she could do was watch, completely powerless to stop

him.

“Kason…” she whispered, her voice tight with nerves.

“Shh, just stay still. I promise I won’t do anything to you,” Kason said softly, his voice gentle, trying to reassure her.

As he spoke, Kason glanced up at the mirror, catching sight of Heather’s restrained expression. With that icy, smoky look, she was every bit the queen, proud and untouchable, yet now, it was as if she’d been captured by a rebel, forced to endure

his defiance.
