When She Ended It With Divorce (Chiara and Titus) novel Chapter 277

Chapter 277

Chapter 277

Titus didn’t even flinch in the face of Elaine’s humiliation. He stared at her, her grin almost sinister, and said coldly, “Yeah, I messed up.”

Elaine felt pleased, but it still wasn’t enough for her. “Bow to me and admit you were wrong! I told you to do it, so why aren’t you?” she snapped.

Titus shot her a cold, piercing look, then turned his gaze to Lena. Lena froze when she realized he was staring at her. “Why are you looking at me?”

“She wants to die with us. Is that what you want too?” Titus asked.

Lena had been left speechless by his question. Of course, she had not wanted to die; she had only helped Elaine a little, nothing more.

She’d been forced to leave Goodman Group and Halinston, but even after going back home, her luck didn’t improve. She even ran into Francis, who was now totally alone; everyone had turned their backs on him.

Francis blamed her for everything: losing his job, his family ditching him, and ending up with absolutely nothing. It was laughable. He’d been after Chiara from the start, and now he wanted to blame it all on her.

She wasn’t doing great herself back then, so she threw some nasty words at him just to get under his skin. That set Francis off, and even though he couldn’t man up anymore, he still found a way to humiliate her.

She’d never forget that day. That was why she hated Chiara, and she hated Titus with every fiber of her being. She refused to accept it, so she slipped back into Halinston, keeping it secret.

She waited desperately, obsessively, for her chance… She was like a rat lurking in the shadows, but her chance never came; instead, she got word that Chiara had returned, kid in tow.

She was furious, but powerless to change anything. Then, one day, of all people, she bumped into Jeffrey and Elaine while she was working.

She didn’t dare show her face; she ducked out of sight and hid in the shadows. If she wanted to survive in Halinston, she couldn’t afford to be picky about jobs.

So she wound up applying for a janitor gig at the local psych ward. Lena never expected she’d bump into Elaine at that psych ward of all places.

But what really floored Lena was seeing how Elaine had become a complete mess; she was nothing like the woman she used to know.

After Jeffrey dropped Elaine off and never showed up again, Lena tried to reach out to her. She soon realized Elaine was actually out of her mind.

Just the other day, while Lena was cleaning Elaine’s room, Elaine suddenly called out to her. Lena was taken aback. You still

remember me?”

Elaine nodded. “Of course I do. What, did you forget me? Or is it just that you can’t recognize me now that I look like such a

mess?”

Honestly, Lena hadn’t recognized her at first, She only figured out it was Elaine after she saw Jettrey and overheard their conversation. If it hadn’t been for that, she honestly wouldn’t have recognized her at all.

Elaine spilled her guts about everything she’d been through, and Lena was both shocked and, in a twisted way, kind of excited. It was like finding a partner in crime, someone who hated the same people she did.

Chapter 277

They hit it off right away and started plotting how to get their revenge on Titus and Chiara. So they set their sights on the kid.

They pondered how to strike back at both Titus and Chiara at once and do it with ease. The child was like the sharpest weapon the heavens could have dropped straight into their laps.

Elaine disappeared for a while and landed herself a janitor gig at kindergarten. She’d been lurking in the shadows, keeping tabs on Chiara for ages, just to make sure she’d send the kid to that exact kindergarten.

Once she saw Chiara actually bring the kid in, Elaine swooped in and got herself hired as a janitor. When the perfect chance came up, they grabbed the kid, and Lena pulled some strings as a janitor to smuggle Elaine out of the psych ward.

On the surface, it seemed simple enough, but in reality, they’d been plotting this for what felt like forever.

Titus watched as Lena kept quiet, then repeated coldly, “So, you want to die with us, too? Is that it?”

Lena gritted her teeth and glared at him, her eyes blazing. “Who wants to die with you? I want to watch you both kick the bucket!”

She was not Elaine, after all. If she ever became such a wreck, she would rather end it then and there. But she was healthy, with all her limbs intact, and there was no reason to squander her life by dying alongside them.

Lena turned to Elaine. “I’ve done everything you wanted; where’s my payment?”

Elaine threw her head back and burst out laughing. “Money? What money?” Elaine mocked.

Lena’s face turned grim as she glared at Elaine. “You said you’d pay me if I helped you. Don’t tell me you’re backing out now?”

Elaine’s face twisted into a creepy, twisted grin, and she just couldn’t stop laughing. “I’m not backing out,” she said, laughing her head off. “But I’m dead broke, not a single cent left.”

Lena couldn’t believe it, ‘How could she really have nothing?’ she thought.

Elaine turned her head abruptly, jabbing a finger right at Titus. “It’s all your fault!” she screamed. “You dumped me overseas and left me to fend for myself, let me get snatched up, turned me into some worthless plaything for anyone to mess with!

“They took every penny I had!” Elaine screamed. “Do you even know what kind of hell I went through overseas? They bled my accounts dry and forced me into prostitution!

“I lost count of how many men used me. This is all on you, Titus! Every bit of it!” Elaine’s hatred was practically choking the air in the room. She grabbed the remote, looking like she was ready to press the button no matter what.

“Elaine!” Titus and Lena both called out at once.

Elaine shot them a look, her laughter growing even more hysterical; she was laughing so hard that tears streamed down her

cheeks.

“What’s the matter? Getting scared now? You’re scared of dying, aren’t you?”

Lena glared at her, teeth clenched. Elaine was an utter maniac. She’d acted all calm before, always scheming and plotting; she’d orchestrated the whole kidnapping from the start.

Lena was merely an accomplice, nothing more. She seemed to have forgotten that it was Elaine who had been locked away in a psychiatric ward.

Even an ordinary person would lose their mind in a place like that, and Elaine was already halfway gone before she even got

there.

Chapter 277

Only now did Titus’s face finally crack; he went ashen, a ghostly gray creeping over his features.

“Whatever you’ve got, bring it to me,” Titus said, voice low but unwavering. “Just let my son go. I’m yours to deal with however you want.”

Elaine locked her gaze on Titus, hatred blazing in her eyes. Deep down, she was itching to take him to hell with her, right here and now.

But every time she thought about all the humiliation and agony she’d been through, there was no way she was going out like that, not without payback.

If she had to die, she was damn sure Titus would suffer first. That was the only justice she cared about. “Honestly, I was planning to have Chiara come here,” Elaine sneered.

“But since you won’t let her, I’ll be merciful and spare her. After all, once your son is dead, she’ll be living in her own personal hell, and she’ll hate you for every second of it, won’t she?”

She continued, “She’ll hate you for being weak, for everything that ever happened between us. Titus, I want you to die knowing you’ll never win back the woman you love.

“Even if I have to go down, I’ll make sure she blames you for everything. She’ll despise you with every fiber of her being!”

Lena felt her chest tighten with dread as she listened to Elaine’s words, a cold fear settling deep inside her. “What are you planning?” Lena asked, barely able to keep her composure.

Elaine locked her eyes on Titus, her voice cold and commanding. “Take off your clothes. I want you in my bed right now!”

Lena’s face went dark. “Elaine, are you freaking insane?”

Elaine burst out laughing, then turned to Lena with a twisted grin, beckoning her to join. “Didn’t you used to be obsessed with him, too? Why not join me? Maybe this is your chance to finally get what you always wished for?”

Lena shot a look at Titus. His face was dark and stormy, fists clenched so tight his knuckles were pale, and his gaze was cold and razor-sharp. One could see just how much restraint he was showing right now.

“Lena, are you seriously telling me you don’t want him? Can you really be satisfied with never having this man? Why don’t we team up and break him; humiliate him, torment him together?” Elaine taunted.
