Chapter 315 You Shouldn’t Bother Heather

Chapter 315 You Shouldn’t Bother Heather

Amelie didn’t know what to say after Heather’s words, but she still refused to back down.

“Does he love you?” she asked.

Heather smiled and replied, “Then does he love you? If he did, you’d be the one sitting here, not me.”

Amelie looked sad. “But I really love him.”

Heather looked at her and sighed. “So, Amelie, just tell me why you came here today. Be straight with me.”

Amelie looked at her for a long moment before finally saying, “I miss him, so I wanted to see him. Would you let me see him?” Heather wanted to laugh, but seeing the sincere pleading on Amelie’s face, she couldn’t bring herself to smile at all.

It was frustrating that she didn’t even feel angry about it. She just felt tight in her chest, a lingering discomfort she couldn’t shake off.

She thought, ‘Just wait and see.’

“Alright, I invite you to stay for dinner,” Heather said.

Amelie’s face lit up with joy. “Kason will be back tonight?”

Heather looked at her. “Yes.”

“Really? Thank you. You’re so kind!” Amelie exclaimed.

Amelie didn’t hold back as she openly shared all the fun memories she had with Kason.

The maid looked visibly uneasy.

She was surprised when she saw Kason’s message, telling her to send Amelie away.

The maid could only tilt her head helplessly, looking at them on the sofa as she sent a message back.

Maid: [But Mrs. Bradford has already invited Amelie to stay for dinner. And Amelie is right now telling Mrs. Bradford all about the good times she had with you!]

Kason stared at her reply for a long moment, unable to look away from his phone screen.

‘Did she really invite Amelie to dinner?’ he thought, a bit stunned.

‘How crazy!’

Kason put his phone away and glanced at the people across from him. “Carry on.”

“Kason, are you still coming to the party tonight?” one of them asked.

Kason glanced at them and replied, “I’m afraid I can’t make it.”

With that, he waved and got up to leave, then shot a look at Gael.

“How did you deal with Amelie back then?” Kason asked.

“Just like you told me,” Gael replied, shooting him a glance. “What, did she come looking for you?”

Kason gave him a cold glance but didn’t say a word. It wasn’t until he was about to get in the car that he finally spoke, “Cut ties with all of those women from before. No loose ends.”

Gael shot him a look and asked, “Are you sure?”

Kason pressed his lips together, hesitating about whether to really make a clean break.

Seeing him waver, Gael teased, “So now you’re going to be all loyal to Heather?”

Kason stuck to his usual reason and said, “If she finds out while we’re still married, it’s just going to be a headache. I can’t stand drama.”

“But you don’t have to cut ties with all of them. You’ve still got a few who are sweet and know how to behave,” Gael said.

Kason tilted his head and shot him a look, then let out a mocking laugh. “You never used to meddle in my affairs. What’s gotten into you? Now you’re actually telling me to keep them around?”

Gael just replied coolly, “I wouldn’t dare get involved in your private business.”

Kason raised an eyebrow at him.

“I’m just reminding you,” Gael said.

“Remind me of what?” Kason asked.

Chapter 315 You Shouldn’t Bother Heather

Gael cut straight to the point. “Don’t let the act become reality. Don’t actually fall for her. Kason let out a low, mocking laugh, clearly finding it ridiculous.

“Seriously? You think I’d fall for Heather?” he scoffed.

Gael met his gaze, dead serious. “Yeah. I think you will.”

Kason didn’t bother arguing back. Instead, he asked, “So, have you fallen for Alice?”

Gael’s face instantly darkened. He gave Kason a cold, sideways glare and pulled a sarcastic smirk.

“Suit yourself,” he said.

Kason raised an eyebrow but still said, “Pick a few to keep around for now. Cut the rest loose for good.”

Gael just gave him another icy look and didn’t bother responding.

Kason didn’t give it a second thought. He just dialed Heather.

Heather saw Kason’s name flash on her phone. She glanced at Amelie, who was busy reminiscing, and answered the call.

“Hello,” she answered.

“Got company at home?” Kason asked.

Heather wasn’t surprised he knew. After all, this was his turf.

“She’s your guest,” Heather replied.

“Just do as I say and send her away. I’m heading back now to pick you up. Don’t let anyone else ruin our night,” Kason ordered.

Heather paused for a few seconds. Her voice was cold as she spoke. “I booked a flight out tonight. You can enjoy your evening with her.”

With that, she hung up and looked up to meet Amelie’s hopeful gaze.

“Was that Kason?” Amelie asked.

“Yeah. He’s on his way,” Heather replied.

Amelie quickly pulled out a compact mirror from her bag and checked her appearance.

Heather just watched her coolly. She had to admit, Amelie was stunning, easily as gorgeous as any starlet she’d ever seen on the big screen.

She added, “Suit yourself, Amelie.”

Amelie looked a little taken aback, but she didn’t mind at all and watched with satisfaction as Heather got up and went upstairs.

Back in her bedroom, Heather stood by the window and called Robyn.

“A woman showed up today,” Heather said.

Robyn didn’t sound surprised at all. “Just one?”

Heather actually let out a laugh this time. “You think that’s too few?”

Robyn shot back with a sarcastic edge, “I thought at least ten women would show up.”

Heather’s lips pressed at Robyn’s sarcastic remark. She’d always guessed Kason had a wild past, but hearing it spelled out like that still made her feel a little sick inside.

It left her feeling unsettled, both in her head and in her gut.

“Just kidding. From what I know, there weren’t that many women who knew that place. Maybe seven or eight tops. So, which one came knocking today?” Robyn asked.

‘Seven or eight knew this place… When it comes to not knowing this place, maybe it really would be at least ten women,’ Heather thought, half exasperated.

“She said she was Amelie,” Heather replied.

Robyn was quiet for a few seconds, then said, “Oh, it’s her. Where is she now?”

“She’s downstairs. I invited her to stay for dinner,” Heather replied.

“What?” Robyn sounded like she couldn’t believe it. “You actually asked Amelie to stay for dinner?”

“Yes,” Heather replied.

“I know you don’t love Kason, but isn’t that a bit much?” Robyn asked.

“What else am I supposed to do? Should I just shoo her out crazily?” Heather retorted.

Robyn was so stunned she couldn’t even find words.

Honestly, that scene was just too wild to imagine. Heather would never pull something like that.

Heather glanced out the window at the car pulling up. “He’s back.”

Robyn immediately asked, “So what are you going to do now?”

Heather watched Kason get out of the car and said coolly, “Just here to watch the show unfold.”

With that, she hung up and turned to start packing her things.

‘The show today must be wonderful, Heather mused to herself.

As soon as Amelie saw Kason, she rushed over and tried to throw her arms around him. “Kason, I miss you crazily!” she

said.

Kason sidestepped her, keeping his distance. “Amelie, we broke up ages ago. You really shouldn’t be here, disturbing us.”

He glanced around after saying that, but Heather was already nowhere to be seen.

“Kason…” Amelie called out, her voice trembling.

“Please leave,” Kason said calmly, then gave the maid a pointed look.

The maid had been itching to do this all evening. She stepped forward, ready to escort Amelie out the door.

“This way, Amelie,” the maid said curtly, unable to hide her relief.

“No! I’m not leaving!” Amelie cried out.

“I really miss you! You swore you’d never marry anyone, but you lied to me! You married someone else, and you even made me get rid of our baby!”

Heather showed up by the staircase, suitcase in hand, just in time to hear those words.
