When She Ended It With Divorce (Chiara and Titus) novel Chapter 54

**Silent Roads Remember by Sawyer**
**Chapter 54**

Before making her way to the Goodman Group headquarters, Eunice had initially intended to head directly to Chiara’s side. However, just as she was halfway through her journey, her phone buzzed insistently in her pocket. It was Heather, her voice urgent and clipped as she informed Eunice that she was already at the villa.

Despite Heather’s persistent ringing of the doorbell, it was as if the house had fallen into a deep slumber; no one answered, and the heavy silence only added to the tension. Yet, Eunice’s sharp gaze caught sight of several vehicles parked in the yard, a clear indication that something was amiss. With a swift decision, she altered her course, redirecting her path toward Titus instead. Little did she know that what awaited her would be both shocking and revealing.

Although she lamented the missed opportunity to capture the clandestine moment between Chiara and Titus on camera, Eunice found a silver lining in the audacity of their embrace. After all, they had chosen to display their affection right under the nose of the company, leaving her with undeniable proof of their connection. Perhaps this could work to her advantage.

“Titus, what have you really done to Chiara?” Eunice’s voice sliced through the air, filled with defiance.

Elaine, who had been silently observing, sensed the underlying tension in Eunice’s question. She bit her lip, casting a furtive glance at Titus, her mind racing with anxiety. What could it possibly mean that Chiara was unreachable?

Titus, feeling the weight of their gaze, turned to Elaine with a sidelong look. “Why don’t you step outside for a moment?”

Elaine’s heart raced, her eyes widening with a mix of surprise and concern. “But what about us—”

“We’ll discuss it later,” Titus interrupted, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Elaine felt a flicker of hope; perhaps he wouldn’t completely abandon her after all. A few tears and some pleading had always been enough to sway him in the past.

“Fine, then I’m leaving,” she replied, her voice strained but resolute. She had no choice but to comply. As she brushed past Eunice, she hesitated for a fleeting moment.

Eunice shot her a glare, icy and filled with disdain. “What are you staring at? Want another slap?”

Elaine’s expression darkened, and with a fierce glare, she stormed out of the office, the door slamming shut behind her.

At that moment, Eunice’s phone rang again. She glanced at the caller ID—Heather—and, disregarding Titus entirely, she answered with urgency. “Heather?”

“Chiara’s been locked up by him at home,” Heather’s voice was sharp, laced with an edge of anger.

Eunice’s heart sank, disbelief washing over her. “What do you mean?”

Heather elaborated, “Titus has Chiara confined in the villa, with bodyguards monitoring her every move.”

Eunice’s face drained of color as she stared at Titus, her mind racing with disbelief and fury.

Just then, Titus’s phone chimed with an incoming call. He glanced at the screen before his gaze shifted back to Eunice, who was glaring at him with a mix of outrage and betrayal.

“Mr. Goodman, Mrs. Goodman skipped breakfast. She says if she doesn’t see you, she’s not eating,” a bodyguard reported, his voice trembling slightly.

Titus’s expression hardened, his lips pressed into a thin line. “So, you just let her starve? Why didn’t you make her eat?”

The bodyguard hesitated, his voice faltering. “Mr. Goodman, we… we really don’t dare.”

Both Eunice and Titus hung up almost simultaneously, the tension in the air palpable.

Fury coursed through Eunice, her composure fraying. She pointed an accusatory finger at Titus, practically shouting, “Titus, are you out of your mind? Who the hell do you think you are?”

“You have no right to imprison Chiara like some kind of criminal. Let her go, now. Or I swear I’ll call the police,” she threatened, her voice shaking with indignation.

But Titus ignored her completely, striding past as if she were nothing more than a ghost.

Stunned momentarily, Eunice quickly regained her bearings and hurried after him. “Titus, where are you going?”

The bodyguard approached her, concern etched on his face. “Ms. Murphy, what happened?”

“Quick, follow him,” Eunice ordered, her urgency palpable. It wasn’t until she had been trailing Titus for a while that she realized he was headed back to the villa.

As Titus’s car pulled into the driveway, Heather, who had been leaning casually against her own vehicle, immediately recognized it.

Titus drove straight through the gates and into the yard, determination etched on his face.

Just as Heather prepared to follow him, the gates slammed shut with a resounding thud, locking her out in an instant. For the first time, her composed demeanor cracked, a fierce glint of anger sparking in her eyes.
