In the end, Stephanie was still required to be in the project. When Tyler told her to help Kiara out, she seemed reluctant to do so.

Well, her reaction didn’t really matter to him anyway. Once he coaxed her properly, she would never turn him down.

“You should leave the office first. Tell Steph-I mean, Ms. Ford, to come to my office.”

Tyler wiped Kiara’s tears away and comforted her for some time. He had to promise her that he’d buy her the latest designer handbag before she finally dragged her feet out of his office.

But Kiara didn’t see Stephanie anywhere. When she asked the others, she was told that Stephanie was hanging out in the office pantry at the moment.

Upon entering the pantry, Kiara noticed Stephanie brewing some coffee. The fresh aroma of coffee filled the pantry, yet it wasn’t enough to soothe the anger and jealousy running rampant in Kiara’s heart. She glared at Stephanie’s silhouette, as though she wanted to rip the latter apart with her bare hands.

Although Stephanie didn’t turn around, she seemed to know who the newcomer was.

“What is it?” she asked coolly.

“Ty wants you to go to his office,” Kiara said icily.

Stephanie wasn’t alarmed in the slightest upon hearing Kiara’s words. She took her time brewing the coffee before pouring herself a mug. Then, she placed a cube of sugar into it and began stirring it slowly.

Her attitude pissed Kiara off to no end. “Didn’t you hear what I said?”

“Kiara.” Stephanie looked up from her coffee mug sharply. “If you want to ask for my help, you’d better ask nicely.”

“You…”

Kiara widened her eyes abruptly. She exclaimed furiously, “It was you, wasn’t it? Were you the one behind this? Did you tell the client to make things difficult for me?”

“You’re overthinking it.”

Stephanie smirked at Kiara in return. She didn’t do anything, but she already knew that this would happen to Kiara.

Firstly, the project might be in the final stage right now, but everything still had to get wrapped up properly despite the process being easier than before.

Secondly, Stephanie knew that Kiara wasn’t skilled at all.

Stephanie had met Kiara when she was still a university student. Besides, she had also heard Tyler bring up some of Kiara’s incidents from the past. So, she was able to deduce that Kiara was useless as heck.

Most importantly, if Kiara really was a capable worker from the start, why would Tyler hand over a project that was almost complete to her? This project was very crucial, so the person in charge should never be changed abruptly. There was no way Tyler didn’t know that.

But the fact that the project switched hands meant that Tyler truly cared a lot more about

Kiara.

“You must be the one who screwed things up for me!”

Kiara refused to admit that she was incapable of carrying out her duties. Plus, she was adamant that Stephanie had sabotaged her from the shadows.

“You fucking bi—”

Why didn’t that bitch die in the car accident back then?

Stephanie couldn’t be bothered to argue with Kiara, nor was she in a hurry to go to Tyler’s office. She just stood where she was, her expression one of serenity.

Kiara glared at her for a while before she began laughing all of a sudden.

“What’s with your pretentious act, Stephanie? It’s just a project, after all. Do you seriously think you’ve won this round? Stop dreaming already. I will always emerge as the final victor.”

Kiara tucked a lock of hair behind her ear smugly. “I believe you can feel just how much Ty cares about me.”

Stephanie’s gaze darkened instantly.

Ah, yes. Obviously, Tyler cared about Kiara so much that he was willing to conceal her involvement in staging the car accident.

Stephanie didn’t care about Tyler’s cheap feelings at all. But she would never be able to let go of the car accident that cost her her leg and her ability to dance.

Kiara didn’t know what Stephanie was thinking. She still thought the latter cared about Tyler, which pleased her to no end.

Stephanie was still holding her coffee mug at that time. When Kiara walked past her, she suddenly said, “Stephanie, I’ll make you witness how much Ty actually cares about me!”

As soon as her words fell, she seized Stephanie’s wrist and forcefully dumped the coffee onto her own face. Then, she shrieked before bolting out of the pantry.
