Chapter 10
But in the end, Tyler didn’t kiss Kiara on the lips. Instead, he left a gentle kiss on her forehead.
Stephanie knew that Tyler still remembered his identity despite being drunk. There was no way he’d kiss Kiara in front of that many people.
Then again, the kiss he had left on Kiara’s forehead was enough to proclaim their relationship before everyone.
Stephanie still remembered the time when Tyler had told her not to drag personal affairs into their workplace. What a big fat joke.
Brenda texted Stephanie again. “It seems that Ms Grover really is Mr. Grover’s girlfriend. No wonder he wants to hand the project we’ve worked so hard on over to her. I never knew that Mr. Grover can’t separate business from private matters at all. He really has crossed the line this time.”
“Don’t say such things ever again, Brenda. Do not bring this up in front of other people in the company as well,” Stephanie reminded her.
Both Tyler and Kiara were underhanded bastards. If Brenda were to offend them, she’d definitely suffer.
“Don’t worry, Ms. Ford. I won’t bring any of this up in front of anyone else. But the thing is, everyone knows how much effort you’ve put into the project. Are you really going to hand it over to Ms. Grover just like that?”
Stephanie replied, “It’s fine.”
So, Kiara wanted her project, huh? She’d just end up shooting herself in the foot anyway.
Kiara left the company the next morning because she wanted to discuss the project’s details with the client. Before she left, she shot Stephanie a glance, her lips already curled into a taunting smile.
The team members, who had been working with Stephanie on the project, all snuck glances in her direction. Still, they dared not make a peep.
After all, Kiara was Tyler’s beloved sweetheart. Moreover, he was also the one who had personally handed the project over to her.
Although the whole team felt that Tyler’s actions were inappropriate, they didn’t have the guts to say anything at all.
Stephanie, on the other hand, remained as cool as a cucumber, even after sensing everyone’s glances. She continued dealing with her own work.
Everyone thought she was just pretending to be calm, so they pitied her even more. What they

didn’t expect was that Kiara would return to the company in a few hours, this time looking furious.
The moment she returned, she made a beeline for Tyler’s office right away. When she stalked past Stephanie’s workspace, she even paused to glare at the latter angrily.
This left everyone feeling confused. Once Kiara entered Tyler’s office, the other colleagues quickly asked the two people who had attended the discussion with Kiara for more details.
But those people had mixed feelings written all over their faces. None of them said anything.
Meanwhile, Kiara was sitting on Tyler’s lap while venting everything to him in the office.
“The client company is definitely making things difficult for me on purpose, Ty!” Kiara complained with red-rimmed eyes. “I’m being bullied just because I’m new!”
Tyler frowned deeply. “That can’t be it. Is there a misunderstanding between you two?”
“What sort of misunderstanding could there be?”
No matter what Kiara said, the client’s representatives kept telling her no. Then, they asked her for Stephanie’s whereabouts. Some of them even said, “If only Ms. Ford were here…”
Didn’t that mean she was inferior to Stephanie?
The project was already in its final stage. All Kiara had to do was wrap everything up, right? Must the client nitpick at her mistakes that much?
“Ty, this is the first project I’m in charge of since I came to your company. If everyone else were to find out that I screwed up, they’d definitely make fun of me!”
Kiara sobbed quietly as she hugged Tyler’s neck.
“There, there. Stop crying already.” Tyler wiped Kiara’s tears for her clumsily.
He hesitated for a moment before adding, “Next time, you should have Steph accompany you to the meeting. She was in charge of the project for a long time, so she knew the details the most.”
Tyler initially thought that Kiara would be able to handle the final stage of the project. Who would’ve thought that she’d screw up?
