You Wed Your Past I Wed My Future novel Chapter 8

Chapter 8

The moment Tyler saw Stephanie, he let go of ‘Kiara’s hand immediately. But Stephanie’s gaze merely flickered across his and Kiara’s hands calmly.

Those two bastards were already blatantly holding hands, yet Tyler still tried to mask that fact. How ridiculous.

“Steph…”

Tyler called out to Stephanie lovingly, but she never responded to him. Instead, she walked back to the guest room.

“Is Ms. Ford unhappy at the moment?” Kiara shook Tyler’s arm coquettishly. “Why don’t you coax her, Ty?”

Tyler frowned in response. He was about to tell Kiara not to mind Stephanie’s attitude, but for some reason, he just couldn’t get the words out of his mouth. So, he gently shook Kiara off his arm before heading toward the guest room.

Kiara didn’t say anything at all. Her expression, on the other hand, faltered slightly.

She was just running her mouth for no reason. The truth was, she didn’t want Tyler to seek Stephanie out at all.

Then again, they still needed Stephanie to give birth to their child. They had no choice regarding this matter.

Hmph! If it wasn’t for the fact that Kiara couldn’t give birth, Stephanie wouldn’t even be included in this equation, to begin with.

Stephanie sat at the desk in her room. She was about to take more stomach medication when she heard the door being opened from behind.

“Why did you come home so early, Steph?”

Despite knowing that Tyler was right behind her, Stephanie didn’t bother turning around, nor did she respond to his question.

Upon approaching Stephanie, Tyler was quick to notice that she had taken her medication. Concern tinged his tone as he asked, “You took more meds? Are you feeling unwell again?”

Then, he picked up the medication box and glanced at it. “Is your stomach acting up again? Why didn’t you tell me anything?”

“It was unnecessary,” Stephanie replied coolly.

Tyler stared at her, his gaze slightly dark.

“Are you feeling sick in your stomach? I’ll massage it for you.”

As Tyler spoke, he reached out to touch Stephanie. She tensed up immediately before leaning backward and scooting a short distance away from him, resulting in her chair scraping loudly against the floor.

“Steph?” By then, Tyler’s expression was already stormy.

“No, thanks.” Stephanie rose from her chair. “I’m not that uncomfortable. I’m going to rest now. Please leave my room.”

“Are you still unhappy because of what happened tonight?”

It was then that Tyler roped Stephanie into a hug “Steph, be a good girl, okay? Kiki has just joined the company. If you don’t show her any respect, how is she going to establish herself in the Executive Office in the future?”

Stephanie merely smirked mockingly. “With you around, I don’t think she’s worried about this problem in the slightest.”

“It’s just a glass of alcohol, Steph! There’s no need for you to make a ruckus over it, right? It’s not like you’ve never had alcohol in the past!”

Stephanie clenched her fists tightly at Tyler’s words.

Tyler reeked of alcohol. When he spoke, he was slurring his words drunkenly. Stephanie could tell that Tyler had far too much to drink tonight.

As for Kiara… Stephanie had already seen the clarity in the former’s eyes. Her expression was normal, too. She most likely didn’t drink anything alcoholic tonight.

Tyler sure took good care of Kiara, huh?

“Steph, you’re becoming more wilful now.” Tyler’s displeasure intensified. “I know! You must’ve taken the stomach medication in front of me purposefully, right? It’s one thing to leave the team dinner without informing any of us, but it’s another to pull off such a childish trick in front of me!

“All you did was drink a glass of alcohol Kiki had toasted to you! How is it possible for you to wreck your stomach with just one glass of alcohol?”

But Tyler had always known that Stephanie had a weak stomach this whole time. Yet, he still said such things to hurt her.

At the end of the day, he was just taking Kiara’s side out of pure bias.

Stephanie felt weary, to say the least. She couldn’t be bothered to argue with Tyler at all, so she just nodded perfunctorily.

“Yeah, you’re right. Can you leave now? I want to rest.”

For some reason, Tyler felt even more annoyed after seeing how gracious Stephanie had been acting this whole time. He knew that she had always been thoughtful, but she wasn’t a saint who didn’t get mad at all.

How could she not snap at him after hearing him say those things to her? On top of that, she even wanted him to leave her room!

Did she not want to share her bed with him anymore?

That was impossible! Stephanie was in love with him!

Tyler’s gaze slowly focused on Stephanie’s lips. Her lips looked very pale due to her illness.

Perhaps his senses were being muddled by alcohol, for he began missing Stephanie’s scent. As such, he developed a boner for her right away.

His Adam’s apple bobbed slightly as he called out to her in a hoarse tone. “Steph…”

Meanwhile, Stephanie was stunned to see the lust glazing over Tyler’s eyes.

“I told you that I want to rest! Get out!” She couldn’t resist shoving him away.

But Tyler used the opportunity to grab her by the wrist. His breath came out scalding hot, as if it would devour her whole.

“Steph, I don’t want to leave. I… I want to stay here tonight. I want to sleep with you.”
