Chapter 157
Sophia was already feeling imitated when someone suddenly blocked her way. Fearing up from beneath her son hat and mask, Shizmet Al which were glinting with shrewdness.
Sophia hung up the phone and looked up at Alan. “Sorry, what was that? I can’t hear you.
“Get up and give me your seat!” Alan roared.
Sophia put on an innocent look and said, “You want to give me money for my treatment? That’s very kind of you. I’m not just hard of hearing I’ve got heart problems, stomach issues, gout, arthritis, liver cirrhosis, and even epilepsy.
“I’m wearing this mask because I’ve got tuberculosis. I’m barely an adult and already a walking medical textbook. Life is really giving me the short end of the stick.”
Alan was left speechless, and the entire carriage fell silent in shock.
A sudden snicker broke out. Only then did Alan realize that Sophia had been playing him for a fool. Furious and humiliated, he raised his hand to strike her.
Sophia suddenly clutched her chest, doubling over in a violent coughing fit.
Coughing in pain, she staggered backward, her body convulsing uncontrollably, which instantly scared everyone around her.
She coughed and trembled at the same time, then suddenly lunged forward and grabbed Alan’s clothes. “My heart hurts. Am I dying? No, I’m still young, and there are a lot of things I haven’t done.
“Please, take my body to my parents after I die. They’ll be grateful. Please help me, okay?”
After the coughing fit, Sophia convulsed and went completely still.
Alan was freaked out. He panicked the moment she kept coughing and clutching his clothes like that.
Alan yanked his clothes free from Sophia’s grasp and bolted forward, vanishing into the crowd in an instant.
The entire carriage fell into stunned silence.
Sophia snapped back to normal in an instant, head lowered and arms folded as if nothing happened. Safely concealed behind her sun hat and mask, her identity remained a mystery.
However, someone recognized her.
Jelasburg University was the starting station for this subway line, and there were only a few students who boarded with her from the university, Her dramatic performance quickly drew the attention of everyone, including Eloise Diaz.
Eloise was a senior at Jelasburg University, and she just walked out of Jelasburg University with Sophia. Therefore, even though Sophia was completely
concealed under her disguise, she recognized her.
The moment Alan spoke just now, Eloise knew there would be a quarrel. Without hesitation, she took out her phone to start filming.
She thought she was just filming a video to help clear Sophia’s name, but little did she expect Sophia would nail it completely.
Eloise was bursting with excitement and immediately shared the video she had just recorded in her dorm group chat.
Eloise: [This girl is legendary. Y’all should learn from her.]
She was waiting for her roommates to ask about the video, but the sudden flood of replies from everyone else caught her off guard.

Crap Eloise muttered in panic. It turned out she got too excited and sont the video to the class group that by recident
fis she our schoolmate? That’s so freaking hilarious. Look how scared that old guy 140)
[Typical Jelasburg students. They’re always next level savage. There are way too many old fuckers these days who just use their sen la lady
(What did she say? Barely an adult and already a walking medical textbook? That’s so damn funny!
(After this, I bet that old guy is gonna be scarred for life. Let’s see if he ever dares to pull that stunt again.)
Eloise cast a guilty glance at Sophia, quickly deleted the video, and looked down. [Guys, please don’t spread it.]
Everyone said they wouldn’t, but accidents always happened.
With her eyes closed, Sophia was still lost in thought about the Hartwick family, completely unaware that her performance had just been caught on video.
Right now, her only lead was that the Guardian was part of the Hartwick family and probably the future heir. This family had kept to themselves for years; but they suddenly stepped into the business of Fortune Town.
Sophia knew the Hartwick family wasn’t here out of kindness. She was sure they had their sights set on her.
Sophia opened her eyes, and her gaze turned fierce as she texted Dorian. [What do you know about the Hartwick family?}
Dorian: [The Hartwick family? What exactly do you want to know, Sophia? The Stone family has no business dealings with them, and they rarely show up in public.]
Dorian: [Sean has a college buddy named Miles Hartwick, who is said to be the oldest grandson of the Hartwick family.]
“Miles Hartwick?” Sophia squinted as she silently repeated the name to herself.
The Guardian was about Evander’s age, and since the car she found belonged to Miles, she grew more certain. She wondered, ‘I have nothing to do with the Hartwick family. Why does he always appear around me?‘
Sophia racked her brain but couldn’t figure it out. Finally, she decided not to stress herself over it. She just took him as a random man.
Nadia walked into the dorm alone. Seeing that Sophia wasn’t around, Vivienne immediately put on airs and sneered. “Hey, brown–noser, why are you here alone? Where’s Sophia?”
Nadia ignored her and sat down. Worried about negative comments about Sophia, she took out her phone and started scrolling through the forum, only to stumble upon a viral post that was blowing up.
She tapped into the post and found a video. The moment she hit play, her eyes went wide in shock.
Others might not have recognized it, but Nadia knew instantly. She thought, ‘This sun hat, mask, and outfit look familiar. Wait, isn’t that Sophia? Why is she-‘
Nadia sat there, utterly stunned. The video had long since stopped playing, and no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn’t wrap her head around the fact that the person in the video was Sophia.
“Hey, I’m talking to you. Are you deaf or what?” It wasn’t until Vivienne kicked her chair that Nadia snapped back to reality.
