The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 505

Being alive was indeed better than being dead, because once a person died, nothing remained. The saying "A wretched life was still better than a good death" had always been accepted as an undeniable truth. Yet for some, honor, reputation, and faith were more important than life itself.

Malcolm glared at Owen and spat on his face before roaring with fury, "If you want to kill me, then do it! There's no way I'm signing the contract! Besides, even if I did, you still wouldn't let me live. You didn't really think I didn't know that, right? If you think you can take Myth Group from me, you're dreaming!"

Owen calmly pulled out a tissue and wiped the spit off his face. The smile remained on his lips, but it had turned noticeably colder.

"Smart guy. It seems we've reached an impasse. You're right—even if you signed, you wouldn't walk out of here alive. A man like you would always remain a threat, and I don't allow threats to exist. As for Myth Group? That, I certainly will have."

Owen pointed to Tyson and said with a faint smile, "You only see Mr. Lamb, but do you have any idea how many other Myth Group employees are here? What if I told you that everyone, from procurement to production, even down to packaging, is here in my estate? What kind of expression would you have then?"

Malcolm sneered coldly at Owen. "That would only prove one thing—that I deserve to die. I failed to live up to Mr. Greene's expectations. And because of that, Myth Group ended up riddled with flaws and full of traitors at every turn. I truly deserve a thousand deaths for my failure."

At that moment, Malcolm's words were a heartfelt cry of remorse.

He had always known there were traitors within Myth Group, but he never imagined there would be so many. Even though he had anticipated the possibility and had made plans to counter it, when the harsh reality was laid bare before him, Malcolm couldn't fully accept it.
