Aiden Finnegan's Medical Odyssey novel Chapter 42

"Well, if it isn't Miss Gray! Mr. Kelly has been expecting you for a few days now. Please come on in," the receptionist said courteously.

Angelina was startled by her words. "He's been expecting me for a few days already?"

Aiden quickly patted her on the back, urging, "Just go inside. I'll be waiting for you here."

Angelina responded, "Uh-huh!" She was too preoccupied with the contract to notice the man's intimate gesture. Otherwise, Aiden would probably wind up getting some sort of 'physical punishment.'

The contract signing with Avirax Medicare was beyond Angelina's expectations. It took her just ten minutes from entering the company's presidential office to signing the contract, which was signed before she could even explain many of its clauses.

Archie Kelly, the president of Avirax Medicare, said politely, "Miss Gray, you're here today at last! Haha! I've been expecting you in my office since your friend told me about you." When Angelina was about to leave, he even said to her, "Miss Gray, please put in a few good words for me when you're with your friend!"

Angelina nodded stupidly. As she stepped into the elevator, she was still in disbelief; only after she meticulously checked the contract several times did she finally believe that she had really signed the contract with Avirax Medicare!

"What's the matter? You don't seem very happy now that the contract's been signed," Aiden asked with a smile while they were in the car.

Angelina shook her head and replied, "I'm still in shock."

"Didn't I tell you that you'd be on a lucky streak today?" Aiden replied with a smile. Suddenly, he screamed, "Aah!"

The next instant, he looked down to see Angelina's small hand pinching his waist. She even stared blankly at him, asking, "Does it hurt?"

"Yes, it does!" he replied with a grimace, puzzled as to why she would suddenly lay a hand on him.

"I'm not dreaming, then!" Angelina said.

Aiden rolled his eyes, saying, "Could you please pinch yourself next time?"

"It hurts to pinch myself, no?" Angelina replied with a laugh. "Honestly, I never thought I'd get the contract signed so easily." She was obviously on cloud nine today. Not only that, she even said to Aiden, "How about we go for some snacks? It's my treat!"

"Are you gonna thank me by just treating me to snacks?" Aiden teased.

Angelina gave him a dirty look. "It's good enough to have snacks. And besides, what should I thank you for?"

Aiden was just about to tell her about his meeting with Zachary when he pondered for a moment. Then, he said, "Would you have come here if I hadn't read your stars?"

"Star reading, my foot!" Angelina retorted coquettishly while giving him a slap. Perhaps because the deal with Avirax Medicare had been sealed, she was in an upbeat mood; she even spoke to him with a touch of femininity.

Seeing how happy she was, Aiden thought to himself, It'd be nice if we can go on like this forever.

They arrived at the food street with Aiden tagging along behind Angelina. Seeing how she expertly lingered at different food stalls, he was genuinely astounded. Who would have thought that the prettiest woman in Keyland would be like a duck to water on the food street?

"Angelina, you seem to know your way around here," Aiden said while holding a number of snacks in his hands.

Putting a meatball in her mouth, Angelina replied, "Back when I was in college, I often came here for food with my classmates. The sanitary conditions here are poor, but the food here tastes absolutely authentic! In fact, they're even tastier than the ones made by many hotels."

Aiden smiled after listening to this. At this very moment, the Angelina before him was neither the prettiest woman in Keyland nor the iron lady of the Gray Family. Instead, she looked just like an ordinary young lady. Perhaps this is what Angelina's supposed to be like, he thought.

Just then, Angelina slipped her arm through his without realizing it.

Aiden was very surprised, but he wasn't that stupid to remind her of it. However inexperienced he was in this, he knew he should keep quiet at this moment.

On their way home, she kept wondering why she had linked arms with Aiden just now without knowing. Could it be that I've gotten used to him?
