Aiden Finnegan's Medical Odyssey novel Chapter 51

"He cheated on my daughter! That is unforgivable! He couldn't even help our family, and we fed and provided him shelter for three years. If not for us, he'd have died of starvation! Yet, this is how he repays us! By cheating on our daughter!" roared Linda.

"That is mere speculation. You have no idea what the truth is. It's your fault my career and our daughter's relationship are ruined." A frown formed on Harvey's face.

"How is it my fault? If anything, it's that trash's fault for being so useless!" Linda shot up and pointed at her husband. "None of this would have happened if you had objected to your father's arrangement. Now, Angelina is Keyland's laughingstock. You ruined her life! And you expect me to go along with it? You expect me to bless this marriage? To have them raise a family? That'd ruin her whole life!"

Harvey was getting angrier by the second. Darkly, he retorted, "I'm ruining her life?! She's my daughter as well. I would never hurt her. You claim to do everything for her own good, but do you know what exactly those rich boys you introduced to her were after? They only want her body. That kind of marriage will never last." Harvey then turned to Angelina and said, "Let's wait for Aiden. I'll talk it out."

"No, you won't! He's cheating because you're defending him all the time!"

"Enough!" Angelina shouted. "Just leave me alone."

Her parents were startled by her shout. After a moment, Linda harrumphed. "Don't worry, Angelina. If your father won't help you, I will do it myself!" She shot Harvey a glare and left the room.

Harvey looked at his daughter. "Angelina, the fact that you're angry means you care about Aiden. It's been three years since you two got married, and I can see that he truly loves you. He does everything for you. He would even fill the tub with hot water if you needed to bathe. So, just calm down for now, okay? We'll talk to him once he comes back."

"I know, Dad. I need to rest," said Angelina.

He heaved a sigh and left the room in the end.

Angelina sat on the bed, replaying what her father had said in her mind. Aiden did treat her like a princess over the last three years, but she was never nice to him. Yet, he never complained and was always loyal to her. However, she looked down on him because he never talked back to her, thinking he was unmanly. And what made her even angrier was the fact that he spent his days loitering in the kitchen.

Though, Aiden wouldn't have had to stay at home all the time if not for Linda's exploitation. Linda spent her days shopping and playing poker with her friends. If it weren't for Aiden, their family wouldn't even get to eat home-cooked meals. Angelina might have never yelled at Aiden for never filling the tub with hot water for her, but Linda did before. Yet, he said nothing to that.

While Angelina was thinking about the past, Aiden was in his medical center, looking frustrated. He had fallen for Angelina from the moment Ronald took him to the residence. He knew she was the one for him. Even though he was humiliated for years after Ronald's death, Aiden never took it out on Angelina.

He did want revenge but was too weak to do so back then, so he had to settle down. Angelina might be harsh and aloof, but she never ordered him around as if he was a servant.

"So, who's the main chick?" Helena came to Aiden, smiling.

A frown creased his forehead. "Quit joking around. Gina's my friend."

"As if. She gave you a whole medical center. Even a blind man can see she likes you." She pouted.

Whatever. She's never going to believe me, anyway. And I have better things to do. Figuring it was pointless to argue with her, he remained silent.

However, Helena wouldn't let it go just like that. "So, who's the other one?"

"Are you for real?" Helena's jaw dropped. He has found himself such a beautiful wife, yet he never once held her hand. This is unbelievable! "That's impossible."
