Daniel's expression suddenly turned cold. He stepped on the accelerator, and the car roared once again.
He was never one to sit back and take a beating. After spotting the intersection, Daniel drifted sharply and veered onto the side road. The sudden move left those behind him momentarily stunned.
"Damn it! Turn around, now!"
"If I catch him, he's dead! Chase him!"
A chorus of angry curses erupted as a series of sharp braking sounds filled the air. The cars took off once again in pursuit.
Daniel had no idea how far this side road would take him, but that wasn't his concern. He saw a forest ahead and brought the car to a stop.
Moments later, a cloud of dust billowed from behind.
"Huh? This guy actually stopped!"
"Pretty bold move!"
Seeing Daniel leaning against his car instead of fleeing, they paused for a moment. Then they sneered and stepped out of their cars with guns in their hands.
"We really underestimated you, Daniel."
The one leading them was a slick-looking young man dressed in a white suit. The most striking detail was the emblem on the left side of his chest, the symbol of the Aurora Foundation.
Daniel sighed. "Aurora Foundation? You guys sure are quick," he said.
The young man scoffed. "Of course we do."
He shook his head before adding, "Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself. I'm Alexander, and I just arrived in Qranross."
He took out a pristine white handkerchief and wiped the corner of his mouth. "Speaking of which, I should thank you. I've barely set foot in Qranross, and you've already given me such a generous welcome."
Daniel gave him a strange look. "A sissy?" he asked.
Alexander's fingers turned pale from gripping too hard. His head snapped up as he pointed with exaggerated elegance, and his other hand instinctively rested on his hip.
