Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 132

Daniel's gaze remained eerily calm. "I don't like the way you're looking at me. Let me ask you one more time. Are you taking me there or not?" he asked.

With a flick of his hand, Daniel hit Alexander's eyes. This time, he would never have the chance to glare at anyone with such hatred again.

Alexander gritted his teeth and spat out the words. "Fine! I'll take you there," he said.

He knew he stood no chance against Daniel. But if Daniel wanted to throw himself into the fire, what difference did it make whether he was captured or walked in on his own?

To Alexander, there was none. The Aurora Foundation's people, however, might not see it that way.

Daniel dragged Alexander back to the Maybach and set off. He followed Alexander's directions straight to the Aurora Foundation's headquarters.

But as they drove, a cold smirk crept onto Daniel's lips.

"You people just don't give up, do you?"

He said this because he had realized where Alexander was leading him. It was the Ashcroft family's ancestral burial grounds.

Looking back, Daniel realized it was his own oversight. Had he retrieved what his father left behind earlier, the Aurora Foundation would have surfaced much sooner. But it still wasn't too late now.

Daniel brought the car to a stop at Ashcroft Village.

This was where the Ashcroft family had first risen to prominence. But as their influence grew, they rarely returned except for special occasions.

Recalling past visits with his father to his ancestors' graves, a faint smile surfaced on Daniel's face, but it quickly faded.

The village entrance was packed with people, but they weren't familiar faces or relatives welcoming the Ashcrofts home. They were strangers.

As for the elders of Ashcroft Village, considering how Omari had treated the Ashcroft Group's employees, their fate was easy to imagine.

A cold glint flickered in Daniel's eyes.

"Well, Daniel, you went through so much trouble keeping up the act all these years. But in the end, you just couldn't keep it up."

As the voice rang out, the crowd parted, revealing a middle-aged man pushing a wheelchair. Seated in it was an elderly man with completely white hair and a kind face.
