Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 173

The core of Ashcroft Group was once its biological laboratory. However, ever since the fall of the Ashcroft family, the laboratory also fell apart.

Fortunately, Conor was one of the key figures responsible for planning the laboratory back then, so he still had a good understanding of the staff there.

"Mr. Fuentes, you mentioned the staff at the biology lab has now been hired by Riverston Group. That means we must explore alternative solutions to get Ashcroft Group up and running. Am I right?"

Daniel looked at Conor with surprise.

The latter nodded. "Based on the information I've gathered so far, that seems to be the case. Riverston Group was very active back then, and I suspect their intention behind redeeming the shares isn't just about money."

Daniel couldn't help but recall his meeting with Willow. What a secretive and two-faced woman!

"With our lab's capabilities, they shouldn't have come up with no findings at all, right?" he asked skeptically.

Conor laughed. "Oh, Mr. Ashcroft. You've underestimated your father."

He reminisced about Cody's confident demeanor. "Your father was truly a genius. Riverston Group funding the lab to reprocess the data was nothing but an act of waste! They're only retracing the steps that Ashcroft Group has already taken."

He stated confidently, "Without a genius like Cody, they're bound to make mistakes and waste even more money."

This wasn't the first time Daniel had heard about it. The more he learned about Cody's past, the more he felt guilty for not recognizing his father's brilliance earlier.

"So, what should our company do next?" he asked Conor.

"The key to the genetic longevity formula lies in the genetic data, not the lab personnel," Conor explained, his tone firm.

"I've already reached out to top domestic teams. It's just a matter of spending some money to set up a new biology lab." He stated his concerns. "However, this will likely delay the company's launch."
