Daniel came to the Ashcroft family's ancestral burial grounds. The area had become more desolate since the last explosion, leaving only a memorial hall alone in its ruined state.
It was totally empty inside.
Because of what Cody had left behind, this place had been thoroughly searched time and again, yet no one had found anything.
Daniel signed softly looking at the devastated hall. "Don't worry, Dad. I'll restore the memorial hall to its former glory soon," he murmured and placed his hand on the altar.
As his fingers traced the scratches on the surface, a flood of childhood memories surfaced. He recalled the times Cody had brought him here, though the memory was hazy.
In his mind, Cody had gazed at him with warmth as his lips moved soundlessly.
Just then, a sudden surge of spiritual energy erupted from within the table. Daniel's eyes widened in shock at the sight.
As he recalled Cody's cryptic words deep within his memories, he realized the Ashcroft family was far more mysterious than he'd ever imagined!
Otherwise, why would there be such an advanced spiritual energy lock embedded in the memorial hall?
His gaze fixed on the swirling currents before him, and a flicker of astonishment flashed in his eyes. "It's the Energy-Driven Lock! No wonder no one has been able to find what Dad left behind!"
Such locks were common in other worlds, but it was beyond most people's recognition in this world. That was why Daniel was so surprised.
Reaching out, he gently touched the Energy-Driven Lock. It was soft like clouds in the sky, and as he pressed down, the lock recoiled before coiling around his hand. A sharp sting followed.
Blood trickled from his fingertip, and the Energy-Driven Lock turned blood red.
A radiant golden light burst forth and illuminated the entire ruined memorial hall with dazzling brilliance.
