Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 260

William opened the document to take a look and closed it with a cold smile. After tossing it to the desk, he arrived by the window.

"Looks like they're ready to concede. I bet Daniel has to leave Qranross now."

"That's very likely. Mr. Keaton, shall we…" his subordinate asked respectfully.

"The plan will proceed! Summon the Elder Council and have them lie in wait along the main roads leading out of Qranross! Activate the covert agents and make sure they keep a close watch on Daniel.

"Report to me as soon as his whereabouts are discovered," William instructed solemnly.

"Roger that!" the subordinate affirmed and left in a hurry.

"Oh, Mason. Don't you worry. Dad is going to avenge you soon." William's eyes narrowed with a dangerous glint.

The weather in Qranross seemed to reflect the city's tense atmosphere. Thunderstorms occurred frequently, and the skies remained gloomy every day.

Since it was all an act, Charlene had to play her part thoroughly.

She didn't think too much about it. When Daniel asked for her cooperation, she vanished without hesitation and was hidden away in the Verdant Estate by him.

"This is a great place—an ideal place for a vacation too!" Charlene strolled around Verdant Estate and nodded with satisfaction.

"I'm sorry. I'll be hiding you here for some time," Daniel said with a laugh.

She shot him a look. "You're sorry? I love this place! But you should still be careful, Daniel. I won't pry, but promise me you'll come back alive."

He guffawed, poking the tip of her nose. "There's no one in this world that can kill me! Your worry is pointless."
