The sound of torn flesh followed the next second. Those irregularly shaped stones had pierced through the bodies of those before Daniel.
"Damn it! Do not underestimate him!" Morris Keaton, the elder of his family and leader of the operation, shouted.
He then glanced at the other elder beside him. "Everybody, listen up! Daniel isn't as weak as he seems. We mustn't let him escape!"
"Escape? If we let him escape, how can we still call ourselves the top renowned family?" Frank Keaton scoffed.
The lightning flashed again, illuminating the darkness for a brief moment.
Frank revealed his hands, sharp like the talons of an eagle, and leaped directly toward Daniel.
But Daniel didn't even glance at him. "Didn't anyone tell you? Once you're off the ground, you're nothing more than a drifting leaf on water! You don't have a solid footing yet you still dare to play with fire!"
"I'm going to take your life today, Daniel!" Frank roared, his hand shooting toward the umbrella above Daniel's head and aiming to grab it forcefully.
"Do you even know what umbrella this is? You can't afford to pay for it!" Daniel clicked his tongue, stepping back just in time to narrowly evade Frank's outstretched palm.
Frank was momentarily stunned but quickly regained his composure and pressed forward with his attack.
However, Daniel didn't retreat this time. Instead, he took the initiative, flicking his fingers. In an instant, a surge of energy pierced through Frank's skull!
Frank's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at Daniel, unable to comprehend how he had been so easily defeated. He hadn't expected to meet his end at the hands of someone so effortlessly skilled.
As his body fell to the ground, Daniel, no longer patient, told the small fries, "William may have sent you guys here, but that doesn't mean he should be in hiding while he watches each of you die."
Morris gritted his teeth. "What makes you think you can do that? The Keatons will never be humiliated, not by anyone, and definitely not you! This is your last night, Daniel!"
"What? As if I'm going to die in your hands." Daniel sneered, suddenly spinning his umbrella.
"You! How did you find out?" Morris widened his eyes in disbelief.
Morris' heart sank as he processed Daniel's words. The fact that William's breakthrough was supposed to be a closely guarded secret within the Keaton family made him question everything.
How did Daniel know? Was there a leak somewhere within their family? The thought gnawed at him, but he dared not dwell on it further.
Just as Morris was lost in his thoughts, a sigh broke the tense silence—William. The voice was calm, but there was an unmistakable note of disappointment in it.
William hadn't expected Morris to be so easily manipulated. Didn't he realize that Daniel had been playing him all along?
The truth was that even though Daniel had achieved a breakthrough, it didn't matter. William had already made other plans. Tonight, his only goal was clear—to eliminate Daniel.
