"It's been a while, Ms. Walsh!"
The one speaking was a burly man with a strong physique. Around him were a group of equally fierce-looking middle-aged men, holding clubs in their hands. It was clear they were not here with good intentions.
Jennifer recognized the man. "Oh, it's Mr. Grylls!"
"You remember me, huh?" Edward Grylls raised the club and struck it against her car windshield.
She screamed out of terror.
He sniggered and said, "You were gone for two weeks, Ms. Walsh. During this period, my men and I have been scraping the bottom of the barrel! Care to explain?"
"Zidane will be paying off my debt!" Jennifer exclaimed, hugging her head.
"Who the hell is Zidane? All I know is you took money from me, Ms. Walsh. That means I should be asking it back from you." Edward glanced indifferently at her, letting out a snicker.
"Of course, I'm a very reasonable man. You have a rich husband, don't you? Maybe I'll have a nice chat with him."
He shifted his gaze to Jennifer's car and seemed to have realized something belatedly. "Oh, wait. Your car is all smashed up. It's dangerous to be out here alone in the wild, don't you think, Ms. Walsh?"
The last thing Jennifer had expected was to run into trouble like this as soon as she escaped from Daniel. Had she foreseen this, she would've endured a few more days at the estate!
Faced with the silent woman, Edward scoffed and waved his arm. "What are you guys standing there for? Escort Ms. Walsh to our car! Relax—we won't do anything to you. We're only after money."
Jennifer looked at the fierce-looking group of people and, with no other choice, reluctantly got into Edward's car. Naturally, everything was witnessed by others.
"What? Someone took Jennifer away?" Daniel furrowed his brows at Alden.
The latter nodded in response. "I had someone keep an eye on Ms. Walsh when she left. Halfway through her journey, she was taken away. On top of that, the other party knew we were watching and even left us a message."
