Mikayla nodded. Although this decision would put her in potential danger, if she succeeded, she would reclaim her title as a top-tier artist.
Meanwhile, Daniel was busy tracking down the forces behind Omari, meticulously setting things in motion. However, he never expected Conor to drop a bombshell on him—a blind date!
Conor actually tried to sign him up for a blind date!
"Mr. Fuentes, what exactly are you trying to pull here?" Daniel asked, half-amused, half-exasperated.
Conor sighed. "Mr. Ashcroft, I really had no choice. This engagement was something your father personally arranged years ago. But you insisted on marrying Jennifer, so the whole thing got put on hold."
"Now that the other party has come knocking, there's nothing I can do about it." Conor chuckled awkwardly.
"Mr. Fuentes… Was it really them who came knocking? Or did you reach out to them first?" Daniel shook his head helplessly.
Daniel had voiced out his dissatisfaction to Conor the last time, but it seemed Conor had taken this as a personal challenge.
Daniel had no idea how Conor managed to find a candidate for him this time, even going so far as to dig up an old engagement, claiming it was a promise made by the Ashcroft family. The best part—Daniel had absolutely zero idea who she was!
"Mr. Ashcroft, regardless of how it happened, the young lady is already here. You might as well meet her, right?" chimed in Laila, who had been standing nearby with a teasing smile.
Daniel exhaled in resignation.
"Fine. I'll meet her. So, who exactly is she?" he asked.
"The young lady's name is Margaret Tanner. She has spent years training in seclusion with her mentor in the mountains. She's extremely powerful!" Conor said without hesitation.
Daniel raised an eyebrow at him.
"Oh, so you know all these details, and you still claim this wasn't premeditated?" he thought to himself.
"Where's the meeting?" he asked.
