Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 283

"Ms. Tanner, is there some kind of misunderstanding here?" Daniel swiftly dodged her attack, his brows furrowing as he looked at Margaret.

She let out a cold laugh. "No doubt about it! It's you! Take this!"

She whipped her silk ribbon forward, the fabric moving as if it had a mind of its own, relentlessly striking toward Daniel.

The emerald store, however, was not built to withstand a battle. Teacups shattered, furniture overturned, and shelves wobbled precariously.

Daniel's patience wore thin. "There's definitely a misunderstanding here! I'm warning you—don't push your luck!"

The young woman started attacking him out of nowhere without even offering any explanation. Did she think he was someone she could just beat up for fun?

"You shameless scoundrel! Not daring to admit to what you've committed? I'll cripple you today!" Margaret gritted her teeth, her attacks growing more ferocious as she continued her relentless assault.

Exasperated, Daniel had no choice but to grab the silk ribbon.

Before Margaret could react, he yanked her forward, closing the distance between them instantly.

Margaret gasped in shock as she stumbled forward, unable to resist the sudden pull. Meanwhile, to neutralize the force, Daniel instinctively caught her in his arms.

His action caused Margaret to flush bright red.

"Y-You shameless rogue! Let me go!" she stammered.

"You burst in here attacking me, shouting insults left and right. Have you ever seen such an innocent scoundrel before?" he countered, completely exasperated.

"As if! Where do you think your hands are right now?" Margaret glared at him, struggling to free herself.

But with her own ribbon tangled around her, she found herself stuck.

Daniel quickly realized the awkwardness of the situation, so he quickly cleared his throat and said, "Alright. I'll let go, but no more attack me!"

"Fine!" she agreed without hesitation.
