Daniel raised an eyebrow. "Are you from Shadowspire Syndicate too?"
"That's right. She's my senior, and you shameless jerk, you took advantage of her! Camille told me everything!" Margaret clenched her fists.
A look of understanding flashed across Daniel's face. "Is that what she told you?"
"Are you saying there's more to the story?" Margaret snorted.
Daniel rubbed his temples and replied, "Just ask her if you want to know the truth. If she insists there's nothing more to it, tell her to confront me."
Seeing how confident he was, Margaret couldn't help but cast a skeptical glance over.
"We'll set that aside from now. Mr. Fuentes said you have ties to the Ashcroft family. If not for that, you'd already be lying on the ground," Daniel continued as he shot her a sharp look.
Margaret recalled their fight and had to admit that Daniel had terrifying strength. She was completely outmatched.
"Well, we do have history. My mentor and your father were acquaintances, and they arranged a marriage between us. But you went back on the engagement." Margaret sneered.
For fear he wouldn't trust her words, she took out an emerald pendant, which Daniel immediately recognized as Pamela's. But he had absolutely no memory of the engagement.
"I don't remember anything about this. I'm sure you're aware I was in a deranged state before the destruction of the Ashcroft family, and there are many things I simply don't recall." Daniel admitted.
Then, a thought crossed his mind, and he asked with suspicion, "If I may ask, how old are you? I doubt my father or your mentor would've regarded such an important matter so lightly."
"W-What do you mean by that! My special cultivation art is the reason I look young!"
