Margaret was clearly the stubborn type. She said she'd stick to Daniel, and she meant every step of the way.
"What exactly do you want?" Daniel gave her an exasperated glance.
"I told you, I'm keeping an eye on you! Plus, my calamity is tied to yours, so I need your help mitigating the calamity!" Margaret spoke as if it were the most natural thing in the world. As if to remind him, she took out the emerald pendant that'd once belonged to Pamela.
Daniel felt his head throb. He wasn't going to fight her for the sake of the emerald pendant, but she was seriously like a piece of stubborn glue that followed him no matter where he went.
He stopped in his tracks. "Look, this is the men's restroom. Are you seriously following me in too?"
"So what if it's the men's restroom? Who knows what shady business you might be up to in there!" Margaret huffed. Her words made it clear that she had no experience with the ways of the modern world.
Daniel was utterly speechless. "Listen, this is a restroom for men.
"You know what? I'll have someone teach you some common sense when we get home. I have no idea who your mentor is, but they clearly didn't teach you the basics of the modern world."
Hearing this, Margaret didn't retort any longer and waited outside. But with her standing at the entrance like that, she drew a lot of attention.
Daniel sighed and quickly sent her to Charlene's company.
…
"What's going on?" Charlene asked as she looked at Margaret in puzzlement.
Margaret scanned her from head to toe before narrowing her eyes at Daniel. "Is she your woman? Ha!"
Charlene raised an eyebrow and glanced at the icy-faced Margaret before turning to Daniel for an explanation.
