Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 293

Yvette pressed her lips together and looked up at Daniel with a complicated expression. But soon, she made up her mind.

"Please help, Mr. Ashcroft! No matter what condition you have, I'll agree as long as you can save my grandpa!"

Yvette was playing it smart. She didn't trust Daniel fully and was leaving herself a way out.

Daniel didn't seem to mind. Instead, he smiled and said, "Alright. Let's discuss the terms after I've saved Mr. Winters Senior."

Yvette was slightly surprised by his response but quickly said, "Let's go now!"

She remembered Daniel saying there were just 30 minutes left. She couldn't afford to waste more time.

"Daniel, where are you going? Wait for me!" Margaret exclaimed from inside the room before dashing out as fast as she could. She was usually slow and lazy, but now she moved at lightning speed.

Yvette's car sped through the streets and arrived at the entrance of the hospital.

"Stop right there!" Just as Yvette led the two in, Aaden stepped in to block their way.

Daniel glanced at him with a half-smile, and his gaze made Aaden feel uneasy.

Yet the latter braced himself and warned Daniel, "I don't care who you are, kid, but this isn't something you should get involved in. Walk away now before you bring trouble on yourself!"

Then, he stepped back and turned to Yvette. "Don't you know what's happening? Why are you still messing around?"

Yvette frowned. "This has nothing to do with you. Step aside!"

"Listen to her, everyone! Is this how a niece talks to her uncle? If something happens to Mr. Winters Senior because you bring a stranger to him, can you bear the consequences?" Aaden raised his voice mockingly.

Yvette ignored his shouting. "I will take full responsibility! Now, move!"

"Move? I'm Gordon's son, and his life is not something to be played with!" Aaden refused to budge.
