Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 65

Disgust crossed Jennifer's eyes instantly.

Selena had been pestering her recently. She'd show up at her company just to kick up a fuss from time to time. Jennifer was frustrated, to say the least.

As expected, Selena's shout attracted the attention of the passersby around them.

"That person should be Ms. Walsh, right? I heard that she got targeted by her relatives because of her behavior as a family ingrate."

"She's an ingrate, you say? I heard that she even beat people up! You see that lady who's the leader of the mob? I heard that she got beaten up by Ms. Walsh's husband! That poor lady was all tears when she told me her sob story last time!"

"Oh my… You can never judge anyone based on their cover, eh?"

A bunch of passersby began watching the drama while murmuring among themselves.

Selena might be useless in other things, but she was an absolute pro when it came to playing the victim.

"Hey, deal with your problem on your own." Daniel wanted nothing more than to watch Jennifer duke it out with her family, so he quickly backed away from her.

Jennifer just shot Daniel an angry look. "What the… Are you even a real man?"

"Shouldn't you know the answer to that question the best?" Daniel huffed coldly in return.

While the husband and wife argued among themselves, Selena rushed over to them right away. Clearly, Daniel was her target.

Daniel merely frowned slightly as he backed away from Selena.

His actions were akin to dripping blood into shark-infested waters. A bunch of elderly ladies rushed up to him instantly. Soon, they had him surrounded.

"That's the manipulative and disgusting guy I told you about! He had acted dumb for so many years just so he could work together with Jennifer to swindle money out of my pockets! Why haven't they received their divine retribution yet?"

"That's right! That motherfucker, Daniel, was the one who broke my leg! I'll have you know right now that I won't ever let this matter slide!"

Even Bryson stood up against Daniel. Then again, he had had a taste of Daniel's intimidation, so he only had the guts to run his mouth among the crowd.

He was very sure that Daniel dared not lay a finger on women.
