This was exactly what he wanted. He needed Nestor to realize that without the support of The James Group, The Blair Group didn’t stand a chance. Let’s see if Nestor was still bold enough to hand the company over to a broke nobody like Lawrence. If they wanted to keep working together, Lawrence had to go.
Word got to The Blair Group in no time.
In the conference room, Nestor handed Lawrence the company’s financial reports from the last three years. He watched Lawrence, hoping he would get the hang of things quickly and help take some of the pressure off.
Suddenly, one of the business department execs pushed open the door, looking worried. “Nestor, The James Group just suspended all our projects. They say they need to reevaluate everything. Should we… should we call Waldo and check what’s happening?”
Nestor froze. He glanced at Lawrence and immediately understood what was going on. Waldo was putting the squeeze on him, trying to force him to drop Lawrence. It made sense. Waldo had always supported the company because he liked Catherine. Now that Catherine was married to Lawrence, of course Waldo was upset.
Still, Nestor had another accomplished daughter. He wasn’t out of options.
“Lawrence, keep looking over the reports. I need to make a call.” Nestor tried to swallow his unease and left the room.
Once Nestor was gone, Lawrence didn’t bother with the reports. He could see exactly what was happening. Waldo was hitting The Blair Group with pressure, and it was all because of him.
But he wouldn’t be caught off guard. If he was going to take over the company, he needed to be ready for anything.
Lawrence picked up his phone and called Magee. “Get Nexus Dynamics’ business team to reach out to The Blair Group right now. Start a conversation about outsourcing cooperation.”
“Got it. I’ll handle it immediately,” Magee replied.
Lawrence hung up and went back to the financial statements, focused as ever, like he’d just finished a routine task. But with a single phone call, he might have just saved the whole company from disaster.

“Waldo, I know you have feelings for Catherine, but she’s married now. You can’t force love… What about Shirley? She’s always liked you. Maybe you two—” Nestor tried to patch things up.
“Nestor,” Waldo interrupted. “Shirley is great, but I love Catherine. Her being married doesn’t change that, and I want you to understand.”
Nestor didn’t know what to say.
Waldo’s voice came through again, sharper this time. “I’ve helped The Blair Group for five years. And now you’re handing the company to my rival? You expect me to just go along with that? I’m not that forgiving.”
Nestor knew he’d messed up. He never thought bringing Lawrence into the company would set Waldo off like this. But Lawrence was his son-in-law now, no matter what anyone thought of him.
Was he really supposed to cave in and get rid of Lawrence after just bringing him in? He’d only just introduced him to the senior team that afternoon. Doing that now would be humiliating.

I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
