A small smile flickered on Lawrence's lips. His voice was calm and sure. “Don’t worry, Dad. I’ll give it everything I’ve got.”
In less than a month, Nestor’s opinion of Lawrence had completely changed. The company had a whole new energy, from top to bottom, and it was all because of him.
Lawrence might not have come from a fancy background, but the way he handled things—his vision, his methods—he was the real deal.
Catherine might not end up living some wildly rich life with him, not like she would have with Waldo, but with Lawrence, she’d always have stability. That was something Nestor could trust.
“Good. Hearing you say that really puts my mind at ease.” Nestor’s voice softened.
Just then, the assistant knocked and poked his head in. “Mr. Blair, Mr. Magee is in the lobby. He’ll be up any second.”
Nestor turned to Lawrence. “Come on. Let’s go welcome our guest.”
Lawrence, tall and steady, followed Nestor out to the elevator. When the doors slid open with a soft chime, Nestor, usually so stiff and upright, immediately relaxed his posture. His face lit up with a huge, genuine smile as he stepped forward.
“Magee, welcome! It’s an absolute honor to have you here at The Blair Group.” Nestor’s handshake was warm and enthusiastic.
Magee was just as composed and polished as ever. He shook hands, exchanged a few pleasantries, but his gaze wandered. For a brief moment, his eyes met Lawrence’s. There was a quick, subtle nod between them.
Nestor patted Lawrence’s shoulder. “Magee, this is Lawrence.”
When Lawrence finished, Magee’s approval was obvious. He turned to Nestor, pausing for a moment as if weighing his words. “Nexus Dynamics is looking to support companies going through transformation. We really believe in The Blair Group’s future. I actually came today with some good news. Nexus Dynamics has decided to invest in The Blair Group. Would you be open to us taking a stake in your company?”
Nestor just stared, completely stunned. Nexus Dynamics wanted to buy into The Blair Group?
“Magee, can you explain a bit more?” Nestor’s breath caught. He’d expected a regular partnership, maybe a contract. He hadn’t even considered an investment this big.
Magee smiled, calm and confident. “Our plan is to invest and become a strategic partner. Nexus Dynamics will bring in funding, share our latest technology, and open up our market channels to you. We want to help The Blair Group upgrade its entire operation and move into smart, high-end manufacturing.”
This time, Nestor heard every word. The happiness was almost too much to handle. He jumped up from his seat. “Magee, is this… is this really happening?”

Im stiĺl waiting for the update, thank you....
I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
