“That’s what Lawrence said, too.” Nestor let out a small laugh. Clearly, he and Catherine were thinking exactly the same thing as Lawrence.
“Don’t worry, Dad. I’ll talk to our president for you,” Catherine promised, deciding she’d put her pride aside if it meant helping her father.
“Alright, reach out to him first. I’ll wait to hear from you.” Nestor was starting to think this merger could really work. If he made things easy for Nexus Dynamics, gave up a bit of control, and offered good terms, they’d have every reason to say yes.
Catherine took a deep breath and sat down, biting her lip. She scrolled through her contacts until she found the number for Nexus Dynamics’s boss. Without overthinking it, she typed out a message. Are you available sometime soon?
At The Blair Group, a notification chimed in a quiet office.
Lawrence was reading through a stack of paperwork. He looked up as soon as the message popped up. When he saw Catherine’s name, a small smile tugged at his lips. There was a softness in his eyes, like he’d been waiting for this all along.
So Nestor had made his move, and now his wife was reaching out too.
Lawrence’s fingers hovered over his screen for a moment before he replied. Catherine, is something up?
Is it alright if we video call? Catherine asked. She was nervous, but she had to try. For her dad’s sake, she needed to know where the president stood.
I’m out of town on business.
Catherine didn’t hesitate. She started typing a long message, explaining everything about her father’s idea in detail, then hit send.
When she finished, she felt her heart pounding. She’d spoken to the president before and always felt he was kind and warm, but this time she was asking for a big favor on her family’s behalf. She had no idea if he’d be willing to help.
Catherine’s hands trembled as she texted back. Thank you so much, sir. I really appreciate it.
You’re welcome. The words looked formal at first glance.
But if you read between the lines, there was a gentle warmth hidden there.
Catherine didn’t have time to dwell on it. She snapped a screenshot and sent it to her dad, along with a quick voice message. “Dad, the president agreed to the merger. He’ll have someone named Magee reach out to you soon.”
She finally let out a long breath. People always speculated about the boss of Nexus Dynamics, but from her experience, he was a gentle, easygoing man with a quiet but unshakable authority.
It wasn’t just her father who wanted to meet him. She found herself hoping, too, that one day she’d finally get to see this mysterious president in person.

Im stiĺl waiting for the update, thank you....
I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
