“A pleasure to see you again, Magee. Sorry for dropping by on short notice.”
“You’re being too polite, Nestor. Please, sit.” Magee’s voice was warm and inviting, with none of the stiffness you might expect from someone in his position. He nodded at Lawrence as well, acknowledging him with a gentle smile.
They took their seats, exchanged a few quick pleasantries, then dove right into business.
Magee got straight to the point, pulling out a document and sliding it across the table. “Nestor, this is the draft agreement for the acquisition, prepared by Nexus Dynamics. Please, take a look.”
Nestor reached for the file, taking a deep breath before opening it. Lawrence picked up his own copy, quietly reading over the pages, his face calm and unreadable.
It only took a few minutes for Nestor’s eyes to widen. His hand shook ever so slightly as he held the document, and an almost childlike excitement spread across his face.
The terms laid out in the draft were far better than anything he’d dared to hope for.
He finished his first read-through in about fifteen minutes, his heart pounding. He looked up at Magee, almost afraid to believe what he was seeing. “Magee, this… Are you sure this draft is correct?”
“There’s no mistake,” Magee replied easily. “Do you think Nexus Dynamics isn’t showing enough sincerity?” As he spoke, he glanced at Lawrence, a quick flicker of curiosity in his eyes. Hadn’t he gone far enough to impress Nestor already?
“No, no, it’s not that at all. The sincerity from Nexus Dynamics is honestly overwhelming.” Nestor was so moved he barely kept his composure. He couldn’t imagine what his small company had done to deserve such generosity.
Magee smiled, his tone sincere. “You’re too modest, Nestor. I personally reviewed The Blair Group’s background, and I know the value you and your team bring to the table. I really believe you’ll be our best partners going forward. We can work out the details, but the main direction is already set.”
Nestor couldn’t hold back. He reached across and shook Magee’s hand, nearly breathless with gratitude. “Magee, thank you, really. I can’t tell you how much your support means to us, I just…”
The rest of the negotiations went without a hitch. Lawrence handled everything like a pro, never losing his cool, matching Magee point for point with calm confidence.
Nestor watched his son-in-law with a sense of pride. Catherine really had picked a good one this time.
Thinking back on Waldo’s recent behavior, Nestor couldn’t help but feel a flicker of annoyance. The man had tried to push him around, but now, with Nexus Dynamics backing him, that wasn’t going to happen again. As long as this acquisition went through, Waldo would have to think twice before making any moves. Going up against Nestor now meant going up against all of Nexus Dynamics.
The meeting wrapped up around five-thirty, everyone in high spirits.
As they walked out into the lobby, Nestor couldn’t hide his excitement anymore. He clapped Lawrence on the shoulder, beaming. “Lawrence, we did it. We really did. The deal they gave us is more than I ever imagined.”
He let out a satisfied huff. “Let’s see if Waldo can act so high and mighty now.”

Im stiĺl waiting for the update, thank you....
I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
